This. IMO the books are better just due to the amazing detail that was missed in the movies despite the movies being pretty accurate in comparison.

Alcohol normally isn't that gross, CB. It's just that most people don't drink nothing but tequila - it's one of those 'let's have 1 shot and drink something else' drinks. I prefer a shot of tequila over a shot of something like whiskey though because momentary burn > lengthy aftertaste. And, of course, nothing beats a bunch of people sharing a tequila shot together at the start of a good night 

That all being said, when I first experimented with alcohol, all my friends and I had easy access to was the moonshine one of my friends' parents used to make , so it could be a lot worse than tequila.

Well while I've not had a lot of any type of alcohol, but almost any type I come across doesn't really taste good at all. I assume the taste for different types of beer is something you acquire as you get older, since I've become much more tolerant of some than I used to be. Some isn't too bad really, but I've never have enjoyed the taste of any type of alcohol. Not that I've had much, though.

Yeah CB, if you drink enough over time you will likely come to enjoy beer, at least in comparison to pure liquor lol. When you start replacing a cold beer with a glass of scotch on a Sunday afternoon though, you might have a problem!

When I pour my own tequila shots, I'm too lazy to cut up lemons or get salt so I just wash it down with beer. I'll give it a try the next time I buy one at a bar though and see if I get a receptive response
