Players of the season so far?

Since we're 1/4 into the season already. Top 5 leagues only.


Costa - Top scorer
Ronaldo - Carrying a pretty shite Madrid team. Best goal scoring start ever in his career.
Messi - Getting some criticism this season but he's at the stage where people are taking his greatness for granted. Still the GOAT
Ribery - Sidney Sam's stats look great but I haven't watched him this year so I left him out for the impressive Ribery.
Ramsey - Arsenal's match winner and the only reason their atop the table.
Pjanic - Finally adding consistency to his game. Best part of an impressive trio of him, Strootman and De Rossi.
Alaba - Overrated defensively but his recovery pace and system he's playing in prevent him from getting exposed. It's offensively where he's been sensational.
Lovren - OLPower
Benatia - Signing of the season for me. Never seen him much until this season. Has it all.
Großkreutz - Maybe I caught him on the good days but he's looked sensational on both ends whenever I've seen him this year.
Boruc - Unlucky bounce against Stoke aside there really isn't another contender.

Costa ahead of Ibra?

Nerman for Messi, Ibra for Costa, Valdes for Boruc and some random RB for Grosskreutz and i'm game.

Ibra for Costa? Why exactly? Because he destroyed a poor Anderlecht team? Costa has been far more impressive. He's basically Atleti's attack.

Not saying he should be here atm, but just saying cazorla was just as good as ramsey before he got injured and was excellent again since he returned against Chelsea and Liverpool.

might be a little bias putting Alvarez in there but he really has been very impressive for Inter so far this season.

PL and BL best XI so far:

Sagna Sokratis Mertesacker Baines
Ramsey Sahin
Yaya
Reus Müller Ribery

There are other players who deserve speci mentions but I will most likely forget someone so this is the best XI I could think of. Reus at RW I know but I had to incl. him as he's been brilliant and so has been Ribery.

Yaya has been woeful away from home.

Also....Sagna, Merte and Baines have kept 7 Clean Sheets in possible 30 games between each other. I'm not sure if they all get to be up there. Luke Shaw is a lock for PL, for me at least. He's stupidly good in both ends of the pitch.

For PL/Bundes I'd go with:

Don't think clean sheets have much to do with individual performances, for a clean sheet the whole team takes credit.

I must admit I've not seen many Southampton games (only United and Liverpool) so I'm sure you're right about Shaw. From the lower sides, West Ham's Reid has been great aswell.

Lahm should not be included as RB as he has been in the Cm role most of the season.
