Colombia has a good chance of qualifying IMO
I predict Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia and Venezuela will qualify

Canada sneak out a 1-0 win in Havana as they saw their starting goalie, Lars Hirschfield, get sent off with 10-12 minutes to spare.

Re: The Official 2014 Road to Brazil World Cup Qualifying Thread
Tuesday could be pretty fun; US/Guatemala and Mexico/ES with both favorites on shit form right now.
Group C is defintely going to be the best fun, it's CONCACAF's version of Euro '12 Group A, wouldn't be surprised to see any two of the four teams get out.

Re: The Official 2014 Road to Brazil World Cup Qualifying Thread
Colombia NEEDS to win tomorrow.
I hope we can score early on and dictate the game. But it's ecuador so I doubt it'd be easy.
Falcao needs to step up but also our defense needs to be on point.
I don't see us qualifying with the likes of Yepes/Mosquera as our CB duo and Perea as a Rb.

Guess who's at the top of Group I
Beat Cameroon at home (technically away, we played that in Tunisia (FIFA )) and got a draw from Togo away. Next is Congo DR in 2013.
I think we have a very good hand in qualifying if we get results from Cameroon and Togo in the return legs.

Late Libyan winner.. I saw that. Crazy game.
The shocking result though from Africa is probably Ethiopia's 2-0 win against Central African Republique. Said propels his side to first place over Botswana and South Africa.

The loss to Bolivia was probably the final straw.. I don't blame them.. just last year they were in the Copa America final.

Re: The Official 2014 Road to Brazil World Cup Qualifying Thread
CONCACAF Qualifiers resume this afternoon, and boy, do they have some juicy match-ups slated for my plate.. A lot of questions still left to be answered and a lot of old rivalries being rehashed:
USA vs Guatemala - Desde El Estadio Mateo Flores : These two faced last cycle in Guatemala City and man it was such an ugly game. Rainy and humid night in Guatemala City, sold out crowd and a lot of hostility. The game ended in favor of the Americans 1-0, but not without a couple of bloody elbows to the head of some Americans as Noriega was sent off in the early second half. Los Chapines will look to play with that same dirty, gritty tactic this time around again.
Mexico vs El Salvador - Desde El Estadio Cuscatlan: They also faced last cycle, but in The Hex. This was around the time "El Vasco" Aguirre took over the Mexican NT again from then head coach Sven-Goran Erikkson. This was also a very rainy, humid night with a very very hostile crowd. I remember La Barra Azul brought their swine flu masks to the game. La Barra Azul have already vowed to keep the Mexicans up all night by blasting sirens outside their hotel rooms tonight and have already announced that it will make it a living hell tomorrow for El Tri, we'll see if Chepo and co. will be up to the task. Last cycle, Mexico fell to El Salvador 2-1 thanks to some magic from El Fito.
Honduras vs Canada - From BMO Field: These two also faced each other last cycle, resulting in a Honduras 2-0 win in Montreal, with goals from Ramon "El Principito" Nunez. Canada coming off a high beating Cuba in Havana, while Honduras coming off a low losing to Los Canaleros at home 2-0 to open up Qualifying. Do or die for Honduras, while for Canada its important they don't drop points at home if they want to see themselves back in The Hex.
