Chelsea at Brazil – 2014 FIFA World Cup Thread

Football's quadrennial, preeminent international tournament is now well and truly upon us. With Europe's domestic leagues drawing to a close, and opening day in São Paulo kicking off in just 31 days, the eyes of the world are slowly turning to Brazil - as are those on here.
-
Rather than scattering over a dozen different threads news and conversation on everything going on leading up to and during the tournament, Kickster and I have agreed that a master-thread for discussion on all things related to Chelsea in Brazil next month would be a good way to condense and centralise all of it.
-
All updates and discussion on final squad selections, progress of our players' teams, their individual performances, performances of potential/reputed transfer targets, goals, form, injuries, etc. all in here.

Still not sure who I am going to back for this world cup.
Who ever it will be, it will surely have a Chelsea player in it.

I am hoping for Germany to go all the way this year. But who knows, maybe England can make a miracle happen and win the World Cup.

I didn't realise Chelsea had an American player....
I normally back Germany, but I am not sure this year.

I am tossing up between: Ivory Coast, Brazil, Germany or Belguim.
Perhaps Belguim.

I would love to see Oscar to step up during the WC. He's been playing below his standards lately. If Brazil wins, and if he's one of the reasons why they win, I guess his confidence will go back up and affect his performance at the club.

I'll support Gaz. But considering he's likely to be the only Chelsea lad at the WC with England. I won't support England.

He's playing as a Brazilian No.10 at a home WC, he'll play out of his skin!

Now that you mentioned this, I am really curious if he'll have his number changed to 10 by next season. Since Mata is gone already.
