2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil - Tracking Our Players
Well the season is over now and with the world cup around we can keep track of some of our players and dicuss their performance here.
Here is the list of players from Barcelona who will be at the FIFA World Cup 2014.
Spain – Xavi (130 caps), Andres Iniesta (94 caps), Sergio Busquets (caps), Cesc Fabregas (87 caps), Pedro (37 caps), Gerard Pique (59 caps), Jordi Alba (25 caps)
Argentina – Lionel Messi (83 caps), Javier Mascherano (95 caps)
Brazil – Neymar (47 caps), Dani Alves (72 caps)
Chile – Alexis Sanchez (65 caps)
Cameroon – Alex Song (39 caps)
Croatia - Ivan Rakitić (62 caps)
Ter Stegen is on stand by for Germany depending on Neuer injury.
Any particular side anyone rooting for?

Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil - Tracking Our Players
Neymar already have 47 caps for Brazil??
Thats more than half of Messi.....
Is it firm that if Neuer is excluded due to injury Ter Stegen will be added to the squad ??

Yes. He was told by Andy Köpke (the DFB goalie coach) to continue a special fitness training and not to go on vacation so that he would be able to stand in on short notice.neuro11 wrote:Is it firm that if Neuer is excluded due to injury Ter Stegen will be added to the squad ??

Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil - Tracking Our Players
If Neuer doesn't play I'm assuming Weidenfeller will be the starter and Leno the second choice, with Ter Stegen as third?

Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil - Tracking Our Players
Nope, Bernd Leno is not considered at all. Jogi Löw thinks Ron-Robert Zieler is the better option, however he got to this idea. If Manu Neuer stays out injured, it would be
1. Roman Weidenfeller
2. Ron-Robert Zieler
3. Marc-André ter Stegen
If it was for me I would probably choose Weide / ter Stegen / Fährmann (or Leno)

Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil - Tracking Our Players
I dont support anyone.
I would like to see Argentina and Brazil do well, because they have some players I really personally enjoy and when they play well, really look great.

Started supporting Argentina since i was kid....untill 2006 was pretty annoyed/upset to see this team's early exit...Now a days feel a bit relax because i don expect anything from them...that makes it easy for me to enjoy their game....

Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil - Tracking Our Players
I support in order
1. Mexico
2. Spain
3. Netherlands
4. Argentina just cause I like to see our own Messi succeed. But historically, as a Mexican, I don't root for Agentina lol (even though I'm a big Lucas Matthysse and Sergio Martinez fan). So when Messi retires Argentina will fall down to a few notches on my support list
31. USA : me la pelan los gringos
32. Portugal : Would like Messi to win the WC ahead of you know who

2. Spain

Like last time, Argentina and Spain. However Spain has already won and I have long said WC 2014 is Lionel Messi's date with destiny. Other than these among big teams I like seeing Italy and Netherlands do well. Among "smaller" teams I will first go for South American teams such as Uruguay, Colombia and Chile.
Since everyone is mentioning their hate list as well mine is above all England and Portugal.

I'm going to side with Spain and wouldn't mind Argentina winning it neither. I also hope Chile do well they've been playing some amazing football.

Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil - Tracking Our Players
I'd like the US to win for obvious reasons, but that is a pipe dream.
After that I don't have any strong allegiances, but I'll be hoping Argentina do well, for Messi and also because I've been predicting they'll do very well.

Messi fanbois. Hope Argentina crush badly. If Messi lifts the WC in Brazil he'll come back as a semi-retired man, walking 3 km per game.
No offense, BC.

Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil - Tracking Our Players
After the last World Cup he went on an absolute tear for 4 years. I hope the same things after this one.
If he starts walking around again then I hope Enrique benches him to help get his head out of his ass

Nigeria 's Enyama foiled him once, he can do it again
I'm actually glad a European team took notice of him and signed him, anyone that watched that match could tell he is quality.

Re: 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil - Tracking Our Players
Tear what up? He hasnt torn anyone up in ages, why will he do it now?
But I am very interested to watch his performances and more importantly off ball movement.
If we see something closer to his old self, I will be upset he decided to short change us during the season.
If he is the same old him, then clearly the decline has begun and this is what he is now.
