Can someone update me on state of qualifications in Africa? The Football App is confusing.

Jordan beat Uzbekistan 9-8 on penalties to qualify as 5th Asian team to play 5th South American team in play-off
Uzbekistan.....the biggest bottlers I've ever seen. They ALWAYS ALWAYS are nearly there, but not there. Always lose when it matters under pressure.

No disrespect mate, but can't see your defense holding out in monte video against Suarez/Cavani.la bestia negra wrote:in order to qualify we have to play a south american team
Still a big achievement to get there.
I am soooo disappointed for Uzbekistan. they are the perennial losers of Asia. Always fail at the last step.
terrible mentality to have

Teams that qualified to the Playoffs:M99 wrote:Can someone update me on state of qualifications in Africa? The Football App is confusing.
Seeded: Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Algeria, Cape Verde
Unseeded: Cameroon, Ethiopia, Egypt, Burkina Faso, Senegal
A Seeded team will face an unseeded team in a two-legged play-off match to see who qualifies to the World Cup.. We might see the return of Algeria vs. Egypt once again to see who goes to the World Cup line in 2009. A bitter rivalry where things got out of control after their respective games.

I heard Cape Verde beat Tunisia and nicked their spot in the process
disgraceful.
I didn't even know cape verde had a national team . Some guy named Platini scored for them
disgraceful.

Re: The Official 2014 Road to Brazil World Cup Qualifying Thread
If you go back one page or two, you can see me commentating the game. Cape Verde did the unthinkable and beat them by two goals in Tunisia. Tall task from a relatively small side who was eliminated prior to the Nsue ineligibility investigation by FIFA.Firenze wrote:I heard Cape Verde beat Tunisia and nicked their spot in the process

Hungary putting on a clinic in Estonia.. up 2-0 right now. Which means they bump up to 2nd and relegate Turkey AND Romania down to the 3rd and 4th place respectively.

Re: The Official 2014 Road to Brazil World Cup Qualifying Thread
I think he meant it as.. Tunisia were in first and was disgraceful how they let Cape Verde, who were basically eliminated coming into the fixture, forcefully take their #1 spot in the group in their own home.halamadrid2 wrote:Ethiopia took south africas as wellFirenze wrote:I heard Cape Verde beat Tunisia and nicked their spot in the process

Ethiopia had a firm grip on the first place spot to begin with.

Alex Della Valle, the goalscorer tonight, is now San Marino's joint third highest scorer, with 1 goal.

Good grief England are horrible in attack.
Unless Hodgson has a boner for a nil-nil result he will bring on Townsend and Defoe for Milner and Lambert. Maybe Sterling or Young for Lampard. England have absolutely zero idea how to create anything smart in attack, they desperately need something fresh.

Ukraine 0 - 0 England
Result isn't bad for England, but Hodgson completely lacks ambition. I've got no doubt he'll call it a success if they qualify to Brazil and play three draws in the group stage and go out.
