I dont know why so many of you guys laugh at Wenger about top 4? Liverpool and Spurs would give anything for CL football.
Suarez is leaving because he wants CL and where is Bale btw?

Both are different things. We have been out of CL for a long time.. naturally, getting into CL is our top priority. If we had been qualifying for CL regularly, then our main priority would have been being the title contenders (like under Rafa). Meanwhile, Arsenal, even though regularly qualifying for CL, have been hopeless in it and have nothing to show for it. Wenger seems satisfied with the 4th place.
It's like saying Cardiff City would give anything for midtable security. Doesn't mean being midtable is the pinnacle of footballing world.

Maybe Wenger is confident Arsenal will win something this season because they bought Ozil? Pls...

You really believe that with the likes of a Fergie backed United and oil-powered Chelsea and City in the mix? You would be in no different a position than we currently areExtremistEnigma wrote:If we had been qualifying for CL regularly, then our main priority would have been being the title contenders

I think because it seems to Wenger qualifying for the CL is "enough" while the teams trying to get into the Champions League want to do more than just get there.Raptorgunner wrote:I dont know why so many of you guys laugh at Wenger about top 4? This obviously isn't reflective of the club and it's supporters, but like I said previously, Wenger has grown bored of his "project" and it would be best for both sides if they just washed their hands of each other.
Dear god, he couldn't even win the CL with the invincibles

I agree completely, doesn't change the sentiment.
The football fan in me hopes Wenger leaves because it would be the best for both parties, and with every passing season I just see Arsenal getting more and more complacent. I could see Wenger ending up at PSG and Conte ending up on the wrong side of North London. No doubt Conte would add an edge and freshness that Arsenal definitely needs, and it would give Wenger an endless budget for his "projects."
However, the Spurs fan in me hopes Wenger never leaves

More complacent - even this season? With a great team spirit, a decent defense, and the acquisition of arguably the best #10 in the world for a club record fee? "Complacent" doesn't seem like le mot juste.Motogp69 wrote:I agree completely, doesn't change the sentiment.

The Spurs fan in you who has seen Wenger's team finish over Spurs over and over again? Yeah, makes sense!Motogp69 wrote:

You don't pass up the opportunity to sign a world class talent whether you need him or not, even Wenger couldn't mess that up.Chumlum wrote:More complacent - even this season? However, Wenger had one job all summer which was to pick up depth at forward and center back. He did neither. Not addressing your obvious needs over and over again would seem to signal either ignorance or complacency.
A part of me understands why he does it, a thin smaller squad builds a better "team" when dealing with top talent. However, when you have to cover so many fronts it's almost negligent on his part, because it will either work brilliantly or blow up the whole thing entirely.

Re: Wenger: I'll walk away if we fail to win a trophy this season
Meh, we need a CB for numerical purposes but it's not like we're lacking for talent defensively anymore so it could be worse. Up front, yeah we should have got another striker but Giroud has been on fire. If things go the way they are going, the absence of these signings might make no difference whatsoever, and that's taking into account that 1/4 of our team is injured atm.
Everybody is playing, everybody is happy, everything is golden right now with our 'small' close-knit squad. I'm sure this is exactly where Arsene wants to be.
