Will Wenger Survive the Season?
I don't mean for this to be a knee-jerk thread, but I can only imagine what the media will say in the next few days. The fact is, the most recent 4-0 defeat to AC Milan only furthers Wengers existing problems. They have been inconsistent over the entirety of the season. There have been only a few consistent contributors this season. Granted, they have been hurt by injuries, but that explanation doesn't seem to explain everything. Moreover, on several occasions this season, Wenger's tactical decisions have come into question.
With Arsenal looking likely to crash out of the Champions League and facing a difficult fight to qualify for next year, public opinion is already beginning to turn against the distinguished manager. The question at hand is simple; will Arsene Wenger be at the helm of Arsenal next season? An even more intriguing question is if Wenger will want to remain at Arsenal. He hasn't been treated with the same respect and difference that he has received in previous seasons, and there have already been reports (of questionable origin) of interest from the French Football Federation in luring him to the National Team position.
Feel free to discuss several potential outcomes of the season, however the most interesting (from the neutral standpoint) is of course if Arsenal are knocked out by Milan and fail to qualify for next year's tournament.

Re: Will Wenger Survive the Season?
If he hasn't gotten sacked the last X seasons why would he get sacked now?
Arsenal turns a profit every year and is always around top 4
No way in hell does he get sacked...MAYBE if nothing improves after we get into the full swing of FFP (which I think is the basket Arsenal's board is throwing their eggs in) he might get sacked, but thats years in the future

Re: Will Wenger Survive the Season?
at the end of this season
a few knobheads would put their seasonal " In Arsene We Trust" Banners
then when $hit goes wrong in the next season they come out with a whole load of excuses

No way we would fire him now would be suicide.
I expect him to retire at the end of the season, I think he knows his time is over and it would be in the best interests for himself and Arsenal.

The question I always ask when people say a guy should be fired.
And who will they (Arsenal) get instead?

The only way I see him leaving without being fired is to take the French National Team job.

This. Otherwise I think they will get rid of him, or employ him in some other capacity if he wants to do that.

Maybe but get rid of him and get who instead?
Wenger
It's not his fault the board is stupid. Wenger has done extremely well with what he is being given.

Well he has said he will leave when he feels he can't offer anything more to Arsenal. I just have a feeling from watching his interviews etc that he will leave at the end of this season, it's not based on anything just a feeling I get from watching him this year.

Re: Will Wenger Survive the Season?
Hire Rafa Benitez
Some times a change will do wonders to the team.
btw kudos to wenger for creating that "you are nothing with out me" atmosphere even with out a single trophy in last 7 years.Genius.

Re: Will Wenger Survive the Season?
But if Wenger were to be forced out of the club, who would replace him?
Not to mention Wenger has sort of developed a dynasty at Arsenal and finding a replacement that shares his values & vision aren't exactly easy and I don't think there's many manager that shares his vision/values.
As much as I think his legacy at Arsenal (the invincibles comes to mind) is in jeopardy, I think he'll still be in charge for quite a long time.

Re: Will Wenger Survive the Season?
Yeah despite Arsenal being Trophyless for so long and despite him screwing up in his tactics like yesterday ,He has a SAF like status at the club imo.I think it would be disrespectful if they sack him and i'm sure they wont do that.
I think its all upto him imo.Either he himself calls it quits at Arsenal or continues on with some sort of Guarantees and assurances from the board especially concerning the transfer market.Maybe this is a bit of a knee-jerk post.
Anyways i think Arsenal will qualify for CL this season and Wenger would stay on.

I'm inclined to say no to a top four finish from Arsenal. Can't call which of the Manchester clubs to win the league but I'm pretty certain that the top 4 will be City, United, Spurs and Chelsea com the end of the season.
Lets be honest, Liverpool and Arsenal have shown flashes of their quality but individuals alone (like RVP) cannot carry those teams the entire season .
If Arsenal do not make top 4 by the year's end, Wenger should stop lying to himself and pack it in.
Re: Will Wenger Survive the Season?
I think the league will finish 1. Man utd 2. Man city 3. Tottenham 4. Arsenal
Nearly every time i've seen chelsea this season they have been so awful, other than mata they have 0 creativity, their next most productive player is dan sturridge who frankly i find to be very overrated, and on top of that they cant defend well anymore, not a good combination. At least arsenal have the arrival of chamberlain and the return of wilshere to look forward to
I wouldnt compare arsenal and liverpool either, chelsea are closer to liverpool than we are

Re: Will Wenger Survive the Season?
Unfortunately, Arsenal worst season since a lot of time is completely logic and expected. It was obvious before the start of the season that Arsenal squad was subpar compared to the previous year and Wenger has done nothing to adress it.
He is a great coach, really, but the board should force good player on him.
