Fantastic pick up if true, and considering the source it's probably true

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. I
Yes, but Sturridge chose to push himself hard to impress the Owl to try and claim a spot in England. He wanted to get in Owls good books to get a World Cup spot. So it sort of is Daniel's fault too.
The whole things a joke though, but the Owl (as stupid as he was) isn't the sole reason he injured himself. I'm just glad everything's behind, and he's back after Hull. We've missed him a lot... let's just hope we don't go back to "operation SAS" though and continue in playing the team thing in death by football.

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. I
I hate to see Spurs add even more new players to a team that still needs to find fluidity and some stability, but Coentrao would be a great pickup and I wanted him there in the summer.
That being said, he didn't want to go to Spurs in the summer when things looked so promising, why would he go there now when Spurs aren't currently in the top 4/challenging the title (not that Spurs are too far off of 4th) and the club looks a bit like a circus?
Can't see it.

Mr Nick09 wrote:1) i didnt know that Matic was so good we needed him at all cost
2)list of guys who arent cup tied but good enough? Luiz Gustavo, Sandro, mavuba, Toulalan
3)it might be near sighted, but it's better than spending a lot on a guy like Matic when in the summer you can go after much superior players like Vidal.
Well one of the other key words is available. Matic is available and considering our past deals with Benfica, we won't have an Illarramendi type situation which is what I think was an "all costs" type move.
The names you mentioned could all work per se, but Gustavo and Toulalan just moved teams, Sandro is injury prone, and I haven't watched Mavuba closely enough to make a supported decision.
As for summer, I don't see Vidal making a move after the extension, Pogba should be a primary target but it looks more and more like he will make the move to PSG (and its probably a better move for him) if he leaves at all. And then theres quite a few other names for summer but none that are standouts.
The names you listed are all okay, but I fear a Lass type situation where we have a player we don't need sitting on the bench for years passed the time he was a necessity. So coming at it from that perspective maybe Toulalan would be the best option, 2 year deal. I just doubt Monaco would let him go.

Available for his release clause which is in the 40 millions, and cup tied, which is something i just cant get past.
Gustavo Luiz just said this week he is available for the release clause in his contract lol, he would move. There isnt much choice, but he is one i think we should snap, beyond this season he would still be valuable in the squad.
let's not speculate on what could happen in the summer just yet.

Atletico Madrid will apparently sign Jose Sosa on loan with an option to buy permanently from Metalist Kharkiv, according to his representative.
“We’ve reached a principal agreement and José Sosa will play for the next six months at Atletico Madrid. The deal is a loan with an option to buy.
“Tomorrow José Sosa, along Maximiliano Pra, will arrive in Madrid. We appreciate the graciousness and understanding from the people at Metalist. These six months will be very important to Jose.”

Fantastic news
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/hughes-liverpool-agree-first-option-2975851#.UsNIsqvAghV.twitter
Brendan Rodgers will get the chance to buy the midfielder, who is seen as Steven Gerrard’s long-term successor
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has agreed a ‘first option’ deal for Derby County’s brilliant youngster Will Hughes.
Rodgers will get the chance to buy the midfielder - seen as Steven Gerrard’s long-term successor - as part of a pact with the Rams.
The Kop chief has agreed to let England under-21 defender Andre Wisdom go to Derby on loan for the rest of the season.
Steve McClaren will be able to play Wisdom against Chelsea in the FA Cup this weekend after the new terms were struck.
Wisdom had been on a youth loan, with the option of going back to Anfield if Rodgers needed him. But now he has gone to Pride Park on a new basis.
And as part of the transfer Liverpool have an agreement with Derby that they get the option to buy Hughes when the Rams decide to sell.
Hughes has been on Rodgers’s radar for months but the Liverpool boss held back from buying him because he would not go into his side yet.
But the Anfield chief is a huge fan of Hughes and wants to be sure he does not lose him elsewhere if he is sold in the summer.
The deal suits all parties as Liverpool now have a major say in Hughes’s next move and Derby have their young talent safely tied up for the promotion push.
Hughes is also settled and playing well for McClaren’s side - with the Rams not looking to sell him at the moment.
And giving Wisdom an extended run in the Championship has worked out well for the player too.

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. I
Liverpool Echo
Not as close as first thought
Liverpool remain keen on FC Basel forward Mohamed Salah – but reports suggesting a £7million fee has been agreed are wide of the mark.
The Reds have held initial talks with the Swiss outfit but the ECHO understands that any potential deal for the Egypt international remains some way off.
There has been intense speculation in his homeland that Salah would arrive on Merseyside later this week to undergo a medical and pen a five-year deal.
However, that's news to Liverpool officials who have yet to make a breakthrough in discussions with Basel.
There are also a number of other clubs interested in the player known as the 'Egyptian Messi' and the Swiss Super League side are in no rush to sell.
Unless a compromise can be reached, Liverpool are prepared to wait until the summer when Salah, who scored both home and away against Chelsea in the Champions League earlier this season, will enter the final two years of his contract.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have dismissed reports in Spain that Barcelona winger Cristian Tello will be heading to Anfield on loan for the rest of the season.
Tello, who rejected the chance to join the Reds on a season-long loan in the summer of 2012, has found his opportunities limited under Gerardo Martino this term.
That has led to speculation that the 22-year-old could move on in January.
Liverpool did enquire about his availability but they are now looking at other options.
