Re: Arsenal Rumours Thread
Who is the most realistic striker we can get this january? Suarez to Arsenal this january is never going to happen as Liverpool are doing great right now and they wont sell him to Arsenal because Arsenal are thier rivals. So who can we get this january?

Re: Arsenal Rumours Thread
unless something extraordinary happens we know there aint any ideal target mid season so best leaving that for summer
for now someone experienced on loan+Sanabria!
Yaya was promised to get 1st team chances as well!

Re: Arsenal Rumours Thread
Realistic target this winter
- Benteke, Michu with some insane offer which I never want to.
- Marica, almost free and crap
- Amauri, please do ( Should gondor Sansone if Wenger is smart)
- Morata, very unlikely
- Adebayor, offer him a hotdog and he will crawl back
To sum it up, we're *bleep* stuck with Bendy&Park £teammoney til summer

I wouldn't want Benteke or Michu for anything over €15million. I'd rather take our chances with Sanogo, Bendtner, Sanabria,

The problem with this transfer window is that there arent many or any decent players available for us to buy. And those who are, they arent any improvement to what Giroud offers.

If we are after anyone big I hope we sign him in the first week, no point waiting until last day to make a move. The rumors will not do us good if we wait too long.

Re: Arsenal Rumours Thread
The thing is we could have been just fine if for the time he's been here Podolski would've learned something from a great coach like Wenger, the same way Giroud has learned a lot.
If he was just a bit more interested in learning the lone striker role he would've been our first choice striker, instead he will be lazy, continue to be nothing more than a squad player and earn his £100k/week until he moves back to his hometown club.
Someone as talented as him doesn't even need much coaching, just watch some Falcao vids ffs
Podolski + Walcott's movement + Giroud's hold/link up play would've been the perfect striker

I still believe in Poldi. What's 60 min per match for his 1st season really gonna show you anyway? There's more to come from him.

Podolski is one of few players we have who can score from anywhere. He is a valuable player and will show his value soon. He did great first year even though he was playing through injuries.

Goal.com: Liverpool readying contract talks of €150,000 per week for Luis Suarez, Real Madrid prepared to bid in both January and summer for Uruguayan up to €60million.

Wayne Veysey reports that Arsenal will send scouts to watch Atletico Madrid's next two matches, Diego Costa has a release clause of £32million.
We should be on that 200% come January 1st.

Re: Arsenal Rumours Thread
Even if Arsenal were willing to meet the release clause, what enticements would we have to offer Diego Costa in January? He'd be switching mid-season, from a team that is doing great at the moment. He'd leave a team that has an excellent shot at the CL quarterfinals to play for a club where he'd be cup-tied in Europe the rest of the season. Doesn't seem feasible. Next summer ... maybe. Depending on how things play out. But now?
Anyone know what kind of wages he's on with his new deal at Atletico Madrid?

Re: Arsenal Rumours Thread
the way Arsene talked about him couple of months back you would think he knows him well enough and doesn't need extensive scouting

Only thing I think we can offer are better wages. Atletico would not want to let him go obviously so I'm sure they'd try to match that.

If that was the case other teams would surly pay double the wages we would offer. Atletico has a great chance to win a trophy this year and they would hold on to all their top players.

Guys, if there is a release clause, there isn't jack Atleti can do about it if some club meets it. Then it will come down to his decision, whether he wants a switch - which I don't consider likely anyway. So yeah.

Just bid 20 to 30 mil for Lewandowski and get it over with. I am sure Lewandowski would love to join us?

Thing is, he'd be cup-tied if he joined in January. And we need a striker now, not in the summer. He's getting he dream move, big wages, the world's top team, no reason to join us especially in January.
@Sri, I don't think anyone doubts that it would entirely be up to Costa. In any case, all top strikers would prefer summer moves to avoid being cup-tied. Only one who wouldn't have that issue would be Suarez.

I think the latter issue was exactly what we were talking about. (Edit: whoops, missed MJG saying the same thing. My bad.)

There is no way Atletico Madrid will sell Costa at the moment, they are doing well and are involved in the title race. We could probably try a cheeky loan bid for David Villa, i think he'd be tempted.
