It's something wrong with our attitude. I think we have a disappointment with this competition from the mistake between Tatarusanu and Szukala at Schalke (1-0). I don't see Steaua fans, anymore, in this topic with comments. I think they aren't real fans and they are leaving the team alone when it's hard.

Well, I'm not a Steaua fan, but I think your team played pretty well yesterday and put Basel under quite some pressure. I was worried the Basel defense might cave in every time your attackers neared the Basel goal. Fortunately, my favourite Swiss goalie was on his post and plucked down all crosses and stopped whatever was shot at him until that fateful 88th minute, when a lapse of Ajeti allowed a really well taken shot by Tatu that left Yann Sommer no chance.

Our coach says that will play 4-2-3-1, like in UCL matches, unlike last 3 matches from internal competition, where he played 3-4-3.
I hope for a good result, it's very important to us, but will be a very taft thing to beat Basel at their home, but i think we can do it!

Well, in the last match against Aarau, Basel played pretty abysmal. If they do the same when you visit, you have all chances. On the other hand, Basel are well able to up their game for the UCL and then they can achieve results like the 1:0 win against Bayern or the 2:1 win against ManUtd in the CL - or more recently the 2:1 away against Chelsea this season.

We played awful against Corona Brasov. Anyway, with our old system (4-2-3-1) i think it will be another match than with Corona.

LOL, so it sounds as if we might see a match "Not gegen Elend" as we'd say in German (literally "misery vs. wretchedness")... Well, I hope it'll be a bit better anyway. ^^

Yeah, let's hope for the best! Although I have to admit the 1:1 draw you managed to grab in the home match did hurt Basel a lot. As things stand now, there will only be the fight for the 3rd place left.

Chiriches has been outstanding for Tottenham so far.

I'll admit he has done a stupid thing here or there, but his composure in the back, passing ability and dribbling ability is outstanding. Physically he's no slouch either. Fast and able to hold his own.

Get him to be a bit more disciplined at times (even though his lack of discipline at times is what's so entertaining!) and cut out his stupid mistakes and he has all the attributes to be a very, very good CB.

Either way, he's a real treat to watch. Love watching him play.

Chiriches was very important for us, almost like Bourceanu. We fully feel his absence.

Today we was better than Schalke, but the referee refused to give us a penalty and gave offside when Piovaccari escaped alone with their GK and it was not offside...

Nita is pretty old in our team. Steaua landed Keseru and Bogatinov, not Nita.

My bad. Yeah Nita was already there.

Steaua currently in 3rd with 2 games in hand.

Astra & Ploiesti are both having a really good season and are currently contending with Steaua for the title this season.

Ciprian, what do you think of Steaua's chances for this season?

Yes, Steaua is in 3rd place, but, how you said, they have 2 games in hand, games which probably will be transformed in 6 points.
Astra Giurgiu is a good team, with some players from national team, like Gaman, Matel or Silviu Lung jr.
Petrolul landed Adrian Mutu this winter and, even if we know he's pretty old, he's still a good player which can make the difference.
However, I think we have better players than Petrolul and Astra, like Gardos, Szukala, Pintili, Tanase, Keseru, Piovaccari, Sanmartean... Therefore, Steaua will have (in my opinion, 95%) another title in record this season  
Sanmartean was the best player from our league in last three years  

Oh ho. That's good then.

Looks like Sanmartean seams like the real deal in Liga I. I already saw him with Panathinaikos but that was a while ago. Looks like he's still good, though, so that's good to hear.

I'm really liking Gardos, btw.
