Well, if Steaua win the next EL fixture they guarantee their passage to the 2nd round. Rio and Aalborg look accessible considering they defeated Dynamo Kiev.

Well, Kevin de Bruyne had 9 shots, Ivan Perisic 8 shots and Hakan Calhanoglu had 7 shots and all with zero output, so your player is not all alone ^^

Steaua steamrolling the competition again. The Bayern of the Carpathians.

So appearantly Steaua have lost the right to their name, colors, and the emblem. Appearantly, this happened a week ago. It seems the army does not wish to be affiliated with the owner of the club George Becali.

I don't see this as a big problem, the army wants as much money as they can obtain from George Becali and they will obtain after few negotiations. I'm sure they will get to an agreement asap.

My only serious concern now is with the match against Kiev. We must demonstrate our name and win without a chance for Kiev. It may be a shame for Steaua to lose the qualify for a team like Aalborg (no offence).

I'm confident for this decisive match. We're much stronger at home. Aalborg won't win at Rio Ave. In my opinion, Rio Ave are better.

So it's all just interest from the army then. Hmm it's probably a bit more serious as Gigi Becali seems to be in prison, atm. Also it looks like Steaua will be able to keep it;'s emblem and colors until December 15. Will update just to see the outcome. Hopefully this thread won't need to change it's name at least.

Well, I'm watching the match as my instructor was a no show at school. Inter Steaua combo for me.

As for the actual match it looks like it will be a striuggle as both teams seem close to each other's level. Do or die today.

No, I couldn't, sadly. Everytime I found a link to the game I got either a blank screen, or a "We're sorry but this video is not available in your country" message.

Either way, I'm a bit sad to know that Steaua are eliminated. So the ref screw up twice, then? I've seen so many teams go out just like that. It's never gonna stop, unfortunately. Regardless, Steaua have to do their best for the league and also set things right outside the pitch. Hopefully the pressing matters get resolved soon. I think it's those legal issues that probably affected the team as a whole. I won't disrespect Aalborg. They did their part too. But I feel there's the possibility that the legal issues might have done something to the team's morale.

I don't think so. Steaua played way better than Dynamo Kiev. Kiev started with their default line-up and tried to dominate but without succes.

I go crazy when I watch again the highlights and see how we missed opportuinities... They missed too, but not in the same way.

Wow, Khacheridi's handball was missed, amazingly. The game was still 0-0 when it happened, as well. Super controversial stuff there. And yeah, that opportunity Tanase & Chipciu missed was just incredible. Tanase & Chipciu going ballistic at each other says it all, really.

Well, I take back what I said about Steaua being distracted. They actually seem to have played well just that Kiev put away their chances and Steaua didn't. That penalty call turned out to be an important one. Rio was beating Aalborg when it happened so there's plenty to discuss. Hopefully next year things turn out differently. For now just the Liga 1 and Cupa Romaniei. Cupa Ligii for a consolation trophy, maybe.

I hope next year Steaua will play in UCL group stages.

Hagi has a 16 years old son. He debuted in Liga 1 for Viitorul Constanta and wants to play for Steaua in the future, like his father.
