Of course it's strict, why would they not be strict ragarding trolling attempts when this is a serious forum, in which we try to have serious discussions?

btw it's not that "pure" trolling, as someone's opinion to not have Messi as GOAT is understandable.
But whatever, let's not derail the thread.

Look, let us put this to an end right now.
Your comment was
If you agree or not is irrelevant, you know full well some do considering him that.
Your comment was purely made to annoy people...or complete stupidity, and you dont appear to be stupid at all.
Your comment was
You obvious do get it, you know full well mant people consider him that.Roman Abramovich made outrageous attempt to sign the greatest player of all time…"
Yet then you go on to talk about Messi? I don't get it.

Re: 'The Messiah' - Lionel Messi V.2
The court hearing Lionel Messi’s tax case has been told the Barcelona player did not have any role in managing his own ‘image rights’ income.
Messi and his father Jorge gave evidence in court in late September, answering charges the pair evaded over four million euros in taxes between 2007 and 2009 by routing such 'image rights' income through offshore tax havens.
The pair deny any wrongdoing, and reportedly told the judge that they were misled by their financial advisors and were now happy to make right any wrongs they had unwittingly committed. Messi senior then told the media that he and his son were both cooperating fully with the authorities.
Reports in Spain say the judge was told by experts from Spain’s ‘Hacienda’ tax authority, in a hearing this Wednesday, that Messi junior did not ‘manage’ his own image rights.
It now looks likely the four time Ballon d’Or winner will not face further direct punishment, having already paid a total of five million euros to cover money due for the period in question -- including taxes which were not paid initially, plus ‘reparations’.
Earlier in the summer the Messi family paid 10 million euros in taxes due on such ‘image rights’ income for the years 2010 and 2011.

it's critical for Martino to balance Messi's happiness with playing time and eliminate injury threats by constantly playing him.
We know that Messi wants to play every single game and nobody can blame hime for this. On the other hand, he's only valuable for us (and himself) when fit

Re: 'The Messiah' - Lionel Messi V.2
Lionel Messi has taken to social media to respond to critics who have expressed concern over his recent form for Barcelona.
The forward, 26, has failed to score in his last four Liga appearances, something that has not occurred since April 2011, on the back of recovering from a thigh injury.
And in a post on the social networking site Weibo, Messi discussed Friday’s Catalan derby with Espanyol, which the Blaugrana won 1-0 thanks to an Alexis Sanchez goal, before touching on the issue surrounding his fitness.
“Games against Espanyol are always difficult,” AS.com reported.
“Physically, I am not 100% yet, but with games under my belt I’m sure I’ll get into my stride.”
Barcelona play host to AC Milan in their Group H Champions League fixture on Wednesday, with the Catalan outfit looking to firm up their position at the top of the group.

Re: 'The Messiah' - Lionel Messi V.2
That's interesting, overall in senior games he has 176 assists, on espn (and im not even sure they are accurate) he has 119, so the wide rules part includes an extra 57 assists. That's a pretty big difference that shot rebounds/defender own goals make to it, its difficult to believe hes had that many shots tapped in on rebounds or made that many players score own goals. Or do wide rules include other forms of assist that strict ones don't?Harmonica wrote:http://www.king-football.com/messi/barcelona_list.phpDuringTheWar wrote:Anyone know where to find legitimate career stats for messi? been looking around and different sites post different numbers

Wide rules in this mean, rebound, own goal or fouled player in penalty in the case he doesn't shoot it.DuringTheWar wrote:That's interesting, overall in senior games he has 176 assists, on espn (and im not even sure they are accurate) he has 119, so the wide rules part includes an extra 57 assists. ESPN statistics are sometimes inaccurate I've experienced, or they are usually missing some games. I don't think it can be 1:3 ratio between strict and wide.

The most games he played without a goal, I can only assume is the Rijkaard era.
But I wonder, since Pep till now, what is the highest number of games (or minutes) he has gone without scoring?

Re: 'The Messiah' - Lionel Messi V.2
A Barcelona fan has claimed the time is right to sell the reigning Ballon d'Or winner, Lionel Messi.
The 26-year-old, who has scored 325 goals in 393 matches for the Catalan giants and is widely-regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, has failed to net in his last three appearances - and one Barcelona fan has seen enough.
"I’ve been saying it for a year, it’s time to sell Messi," the fan told Punto Pelota. "What I’m saying is pretty strong, but Messi won’t win anything else at Barca. It happens to every crack (they lose it). Now is the time to sell him."
Messi's last goal for Barcelona came against AC Milan in last month's 1-1 draw, while the Argentina international has failed to score in his last four La Liga matches.
Despite that, he has still managed to net eight goals in his ten league appearances for the club this season, while he scored a combined 96 league goals in his previous two La Liga campaigns.
The fact that some are questioning Messi's ability after a three-game "drought" will no doubt amuse most rational-thinking football fans, but was Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff right when he suggested that Messi should have been sold by the club after they purchased Neymar?

I obviously dont agree with him, but it is possible he has this opinion based on more than the 3 game drought.
He did say he has been saying it for more than a year.

True, but what he's saying is he doesn't believe Messi can win anything with Barcelona anymore, which is just false.

Its already false because if he has been saying it for over a year, we won the league since then.

Can't believe I've read several articles mentioning or even about Messi's not scoring in 3 games. Just goes to show how high the standards are for him.

I kind of agree, when fans don't appreciate a player anymore in relation to what player offers, it would be time to think of moving on.
The sentiment is easily to be seen in this section.
I just wonder if the 250M offer from Chelsea was true in the summer. Barca could have paid almost the whole debt with it. And it would have been nice to see Messi to play with a team like Chelsea.

No, he shouldn't move, and no, it wouldn't be nice to see Messi at Chelsea with mourinho.

Re: 'The Messiah' - Lionel Messi V.2
So one stupid guy who has been saying for years we should sell Messi convinces you to do it? What? Messi is not providing you with "stats" argument for several games after injury and you think we should sell him? And does one person represent "fans"?Harmonica wrote:I kind of agree, when fans don't appreciate a player anymore in relation to what player offers, it would be time to think of moving on.

That prick in punta pelota is either some fake barca fan, or some sort of smart ass hippi who always have opinion against the world and can say "I've been telling this for years".

Re: 'The Messiah' - Lionel Messi V.2
Lionel Messi has now scored more goals for Barcelona versus AC Milan than against any other team in the Champions League.
Messi scored twice in the Camp Nou clash on Wednesday night, which Barca won 3-1, to take his tally to eight goals in as many games against the Italian side.
The Argentine had failed to net in his previous three matches, but converted from the penalty spot in the first half and added another late in the game after he was set up by Cesc Fabregas and went on to beat Christian Abbiati with a fine finish.
Leo now has six goals in the Champions League this term (having missed the trip to Celtic through injury) and 65 in all in Europe's premier club competition, leaving him just six adrift of the tournament's all-time top scorer: Raul.
And eight of those have come against Milan. Messi failed to net in the 2-2 draw at Camp Nou back in September, 2011 but did convert a penalty in the 3-2 win at San Siro in a second group game in November of that year. The two teams then met again in the quarter-finals and the Argentine netted two more from the spot in Barcelona following a goalless game in Italy.
The Catalans lost 2-0 in Milan last season in the first leg of the teams' last-16 tie, but Messi struck twice (his first from open play against the Rossoneri) in a remarkable 4-0 turnaround in March. He then added another at San Siro last month (his only goal in October), before Wednesday's double made it eight from eight.
Previously, Messi's biggest 'victims' in the Champions League were Bayer Leverkusen (six in just two games) and Arsenal (six in four) and the Rossoneri (six in seven).
Milan now have that dubious honour outright, however, although the Italians can console themselves that at least it has taken Leo eight games to reach the figure, while half of the goals have come from the penalty spot.
MESSI'S FAVOURITE CL VICTIMS
AC Milan: 8 games 8 goals
Leverkusen: 2 games 6 goals
Arsenal: 4 games 6 goals
