This isn't fifa. You can't just buy a winger and tell them to score goals because they can from the wing.

I'm not trying to take anything away from Bale.
We know Ronaldo is going to stay in the left and if he happens to start in the middle he will find himself on the left. I have no problem with that, but bringing bale would add what?

If anything I'd rather we go for Suarez at this point because it makes more sense.

Sky Sports understands Malaga have joined the chase for former Tottenham man David Bentley.

Bentley is currently without a club after being released by Tottenham earlier this summer.

) and there isn't even a whisper about it in France. I ran a google search on every and any news story on google.fr... nothing.

Gustavo on why he moved to Wolfsburg:

"Wolfsburg are a top club. I like Germany. The security the country gives me," he said. "I have considered everything. I knew about everything. My heart decided on Wolfsburg.

"Wolfsburg have always been after me. They wanted me from the very beginning. That is the reason, I am here. It is a good project here."

When pressed on his motives for moving to Wolfsburg, Gustavo indicated that regular first-team football was a priority ahead of the 2014 World Cup.

"He [Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari] spoke his mind and that helped me find a decision," Gustavo said.

"There were many other factors, too. The situation was not easy but I was in a luxury position."

General manager Klaus Allofs rejected reports that Wolfsburg paid €22 million for the player and had put Gustavo on a €8 million salary.

"That overstates the case," Allofs said, before adding that he was "delighted to have beaten international competition to the signature of Gustavo".

He also played down the involvement of Volkswagen in the transfer -- VW own Wolfsburg, while the company's chairman Martin Winterkorn is on the Bayern board. “VW might have encouraged us, but that’s all,” Allofs added.

Realistically no, we signed Zapata for 6 mil in this window ffs. Poli cost us 6 m, and if Honda comes in with a reported fee of 3.5-5m then i don't think we'll be able to get him..

Unless we sell someone of our own (KPB to Monaco for 20 mil pls) then i don't think we can afford him

Arsenal are in position like Napoli,Liverpool etc etc.They have to overpay for their targets and possibly offer them high wages.There's no leverage here like appeal,history because they arent the dominant force in England let alone Europe.So either they put up the cash that is required for these top players or settle for realistic targets like the Bony's and the Michu's of this world.Simple as.

Who doesn't have to overpay? City Chelsea, Madrid and pretty much every other big team overpay for players on a consistent basis. It just effects them less.

We haven't not signed anyone because we refused to overpay. So far it seems we just refuse to spend even fair value for what any team wants for the transfer. Wages/ players interest isn the problem
