Yeah true. I also enjoy watching him when I get the chance and I don't usually tune in to the Ukraine league Was really hoping for Porto or Dortmund before they got their players. Hopefully he develops well though.

Personally don't believe it.

Willian has been linked with every English club that can afford him since it was revealed Anzhi are selling everyone.

Such an easy story to make, if City buy anyone it will be a defender due to Nastasic's injury.

The interesting thing is that City hired Barca's brain thrust this summer, right? I never thought of Barca as being particularly good with transfers recently If City were planning on developing their academy, then yes. But are City going to truly commit to academy players? Somehow, i don't see it.

you cant help but think that Willian is a perfect fit at Spurs if they sell Bale. At least, philippe Auclair said contacts were made on RMC

Yes.Negredo was unnecessary(and for that joke of a fee) especially when the coach said he wants to build the attack around Dzeko or something along those lines.

Navas was necessary because they didn't have a winger.

Fernandinho was necessary because Yaya had no good partner.

Jovetic and Negredo were necessary because they lost Balotelli and Tevez.

Aguero, Dzeko, Jovetic and Negredo is complete overkill for the striker positions unless you're planning on rotating massively...

Wasnt Aguero playing CF half the time last season ?

Just because they sold Balotelli and Tevez doesnt mean suddenly Jovetic and Negredo become 'necessity' signings since they were already packed with attackers in their team.

Its 2 strikers per position, how is it overkill?

Considering they play a 2 striker system anyway, there's a reason over the last few years both Manchester Clubs have had 4 strikers because they both use a 2 striker system.

And no Surag Aguero wasn't.... it was either Dzeko-Tevez, Tevez-Aguero or Dzeko-Aguero.

They have always heavily rotated their strikers and will continue to do so.

Don't get the fuss over this.

What formation do they play currently ?

None of these guys are going to be happy with rotation Mole and they will underperform... this is Madrid's fail system for CF the past 3 years except your doing it for both your striker spots.

You can't get a rhythm unless you play 2 games a week as a striker... you also don't get a good understanding between players if they keep rotating.  The only manager that made it work to an extent was SAF.  It's failed with everyone else and caused player discontent.

And no Surag Aguero wasn't.... it was either Dzeko-Tevez, Tevez-Aguero or Dzeko-Aguero.

So thats three strikers...Now they have four quality strikers.....One of them is going to heavily ride the bench..They're packed on the flanks too.

What you are likely going to see is Fernandinho-Yaya-Navas-Silva and then any 2 of those 4 strikers.

Nothing compared to how City did it, Benzema started the majority of games.

Anyway City have had 4 strikers before and been successful because of it, if anything now they have more suitable players so it should work even better.

Also with City there is one more spot so more room to keep players happy.

Aguero(Jovetic)---Dzeko(Negredo)......

But the question is are Negredo and Jovetic going to start important games ? They might play CC,Fa Cup and other scrub PL games but what about the important ones ? Its not like Aguero for example is 30+ so that Jovetic could be groomed to be his replacement...

Going by what you're saying(Jovetic and Negredo) to rotate with Aguero and Dzeko ,then Jovetic is out of there by 2 summers and i cant see him possibly outperforming Aguero.I dont know about Negredo though,i cant speak for him.

And another question,does Pellegrini rotate often ? As you seem so confident that he will keep all 4 of them happy.

oh the rotation was significant.  Biggest thing is that Higuain was often allowed to go 90 mins while Benz was systematically subbed out at the 65-70 min mark of his starts:

2012-2013
Benz 32 starts and 16 subs
Higuain 26 starts and 16 subs

2011-2012
Benz 38 starts and 12 subs
Higuain 28 starts and 24 subs

Also Aguero and Jovetic are versatile enough to play CF in any case which makes Negredo purchase deem quite unnecessary really especially for that price.
Come the end of next summer,i predict there's going to be discontent among one or two of them.

To me, it becomes a chemistry issue with the other forwards and the midfielders. If the striking duo keeps changing, you never get the optimum synergy between players... it may not matter too much in league if your talent is overwhelming against most. But there is no such talent gap in CL and it will kill you.

Exactly. Also, it's hard to imagine that if the coach doesn't find an obvious working partnership, he wouldn't play it in just about every big game. Leaving 2 of the strikers unhappy and riding the bench, even if they clock some minutes against scrubs or in cup matches.

To me, Jovetic and Aguero have to start most games at the beginning of the season... they're clearly the two most talented. If one of them or both fail, then you see Dzeko and Negredo working themselves into it.

If you're looking for complementary players, then it's Jovetic and Negredo as one is a SS and the other a pure 9.

In either case, Jovetic is a must to me. He can set up play while the others are very much strikers.
