Esteban Granero’s proposed move from Queens Park Rangers to Real Sociedad could be completed this week, according to reports.

Terra have claimed that the midfielder will take a dramatic wage reduction in order to join La Real this summer.

One sticking point however, is the terms of the deal. La Real would like to take Granero on loan for the season, with an option to buy, but manager Harry Redknapp wants to sell the Spain U21 international outright.

He is using Napoli interest as a leverage to get a better pay.He reportedly agreed a contract with Napoli worth 2m a season while he earns 1.2m at Porto i believe.I think he wants to stay so he might as well get paid well because he is not short of interest from other clubs.Happens all the time really.

Leverage? You cant really have leverage on a selling club. You want to make demands for pay increase or sale with Porto? More than likely it will end in sale. Only reason they have not sold is they trying to get that big pay day from someone.

What will end up happening is, he wont get a increase and he gets sold next year.

Or, he does gets a pay increase with a even higher buy out clause.

Very unlike Porto to just reward him after 1 year of performance when their entire plan with him in the end, revolves around selling him. They going to want something out of it.
