The laughing stock of football
What club is the laughing stock of football in your opinion? Please try to avoid just putting the rival team in there, instead make a post explaining your reasons to why you think so
In my opinion, Newcastle is the laughing stock of football. Why? It's run by egoistical chairmen (ashley and Shepherd), useless managers (Pardew lol, Sounness, Allardyce), history of expensive flops (Owen, Xisco etc) Dalglish tearing up one of the most talented Newcastle squads ever And Joe Kinnear even being assosciated with the club
So much lol and fails, it's like Newcastle is trying it's best to fail rather than succeed. No offense to Mole, that's just the way I view Newcastle right now.

Has to be the Spurs. 2 years ago, Chelsea win CL and knock them out of the following year's CL and then they lose out on CL on the last day this year And the great thing is that Arsenal is the club that keeps doing it to them

Middlesbrough and Millwall.
Fcking jokes. They're both like walking memes.
Oh and Charlton. Fcking Charlton. Walking piece of mediocrity.

Has to be QPR. Spent more on Chris Samba than we did to initially bring Henry to Highbury. Have a con artist and a tax evader as a manager. Buy mediocre talent for exorbitant fees. Loftus road is about as appealing as testicular cancer. Finished below Reading FC

Re: The laughing stock of football
1860.
Fans boycott the Allianz Arena just because it profits Bayern but end up hurting the club more.
Constant tug of war between a sugar daddy with CL aspirations that has no official power and a.club management that can't really sell-out because the fans are as stubborn as can be and would rather the club die than sell out.
Oh did I mention that they publically announced Eriksson was hired but because it was unclear what he would do (head coach was out of the question) he declined.

Chelsea is a pretty big joke of a club. Albeit a successful one, nonetheless a joke from top to bottom.

Re: The laughing stock of football
Inter and Man City.
Inter go from being treble winners to two mid table finishes, selling their best players, bringing in an unproven coach, and in almost every way have been becoming a typical mid table club more and more each season since the treble.
And Man City. They get a billionaire owner and buy a crapload of huge players. Sell some when they don't work out as planned, buy some more. And what do they have to show for it? Twice now not getting out of the group stage of the CL, and losing the FA Cup final (their only chance at silverware this season) to Wigan. The only thing they have to show for it is the PL title, in one of the weakest PL years in a long time. And they barely won even that.
I wouldn't say these two are the laughing stocks of all of football, but definitely of all the supposed big teams.

Apart from them, Newcastle (under Pardew atleast, and appointing Kinnear didn't help their case ), Palermo and Inter.McAgger wrote:Chelsea is a pretty big joke of a club. Albeit a successful one, nonetheless a joke from top to bottom.
Liverpool under Woy and KK is a good shout.

Re: The laughing stock of football
Since I can't go into detail about rivals I hope someone talks about how terribly awful Atletico is run as a club and a business. Newcastle and Millwall deserve to be in the front running, so do Inter Milan but QPR beats out all competition. It's not like Leeds where they had champagne dreams but diet coke pockets while having too much loan payments. QPR are just awful in everything...

Re: The laughing stock of football
Portsmouth, why on earth would you sign so many players on high wages when you know it's impossible to earn the money needed to pay them.
Madness.
Lazio, they went crazy buying up players for record fee's only for it to collapse like a pack of cards with only the league title to show for it.

Re: The laughing stock of football
Probably not Madrid but their time with Mourinho has been a circus
Before that the 4-0 vs Alcorcon, CL quarters curse, amount of money spent for kaka etc
They're not a laughing stock like QPR but they as far as big clubs go they're up there imo.
QPR, Newcastle in recent times.

So because our team is backing one of our players in a hard situation, we are the laughing stock of football.

Souness was just as bad as Dalglish tbh.... took the team that finished 3rd and led it to bottom half
At least Dalglish as much i hate to admit it had some positives.... cup final and some good signings like Solano and Given for example.
No coincidence that the only period of success we have had in last 20 years have been during the Keegan and Robson era's who coincidently are good managers.
Now we have Ashley who has no ambition at all so no manager with any sort of ambition will touch with a 6 ft long wooden stick.
Its a shame because we have enough good players to build a good platform to challenge for trophies and despite popular consensus we do have money ( top 20 in Deloitte list last year) but the management is awful and we continue to make awful decisions but yeah we are the Circus of the football world with Ashley being the ring leader and Pardew, Kinnear etc etc being the clowns.
