Nah, on PS4.
But it's a known issue across all platforms and has to do apparently with UPlay accounts and items redeemed through there.
It's shit so I'm not playing till it's updated. I'm not starting over. I was on a roll too I had gotten my first 100% online hack too

Re: Watch Dogs
Ubisoft goofed hard. The original graphics you saw at E3 were included on the PC version and a guy found them and made a mod to enable them:

Lots of pitchforks being raised about a conspircy to cripple the graphics of the PC version so the general public doesn't realize how much weaker the current gen of consoles is.

Re: Watch Dogs
Thanks for sharing this Phritz.
I have to say I am amazed by the graphics. I tried the XML file on two computers:
First on my 6 year old PC with upgraded GPU. Despite being 6 years old, it actually has comparable power to new generation consoles (Intel Core i7 (920) 2.66GHz with GeForce 670). The XML made the game look better, but the FPS was so low it virtually made the game unplayable.
Then I tried the same on a gaming PC I set up less than a year ago (Intel Core i7 (4770K) 3.5GHz with Radeon HD 7970). This PC beats any console hardware hands down. The game looks a lot like how GTA V plays on Xbox 360, obviously with higher resolution. Still, the FPS was not good enough. It definitely is playable but the video in your post is certainly captured on a computer with dual GPUs.
In short, yes it does look amazing but you should not only expect new generation consoles to be capable of visuals anything close to that, but even higher end PC's could struggle with FPS consistency. A gaming rig capable of the video above could easily cost you close to €3000.

Ubisoft wrote:The PC version does indeed contain some old, unused render settings that were deactivated for a variety of reasons, including possible impacts on visual fidelity, stability, performance and overall gameplay quality.
"Modders are usually creative and passionate players, and while we appreciate their enthusiasm, the mod in question (which uses those old settings) subjectively enhances the game's visual fidelity in certain situations but also can have various negative impacts. Those could range from performance issues, to difficulty in reading the environment in order to appreciate the gameplay, to potentially making the game less enjoyable or even unstable.

i'm guessing "we released a broken, intentionally gimped piece of shit, stop making us look bad" would have been too honest...

Re: Watch Dogs
Aiden Pearce must be the most boring character in video game history, i dare to say he even tops Connor of Assassin's Creed 3 in term of blandness.

Driving is shit. Character is boring. Game CAN be repetitive. Overall, the franchise has a lot of potential. We'll probably see another WD game within the next year and half.

Re: Watch Dogs
Most of my mates who played it said the same. They got bored after few days and it was a lot more hype than it's worth.
But just like AC, the 2nd one might be better than the first.

I beat the game on Xbone and I have to say that it wasn't all that impressive, but like RG said, maybe the 2nd will take a massive leap similar to AC 2

Re: Watch Dogs
I don't think any sane person thought Watch Dogs could compete with one of the most successful gaming franchises of all time.
Re: Watch Dogs
People got carried away with a 5 minute gameplay trailer and some clips
I said it long before the game was out, it's bound to get boring because loads of 'cool' features are only really cool a couple of times. Like popping a roadblock up to crash cars. Yeah it's a nice moment. But it loses its novelty quickly.

So yeah i will still keep fapping to GTA, said from the beginning that while Watchdogs looks good its going to be killed by its hype i don't think its anywhere near as good as people think it is.
I see a 8/10 max, i have seen this before game gets hyped beyond the stratosphere which a little different from the norm for 2 straight years before people get to play it.
It will disappoint of that i am sure, a bad game no but it won't be anywhere near as good as people think its going to be.

Re: Watch Dogs
I don't really agree. Ubisoft's selling factor were the 'cool' stuff you could do with hacking. And like Tomwin Lannister said they just lose their wow factor after a dozen times and you're left with the core gameplay which is quite uninspired: the story is meh, the characters are nothing special, the mini games and side missions are repetitive, the driving is poorly executed and the city itself isn't as alive as Los Santos.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing game breaking with Watch Dogs at all. It is just nothing special, that's all.

Re: Watch Dogs
Yep, the core gameplay HAS to be great because all of those little 'moments' are only good the first couple of times before they become tedious.
That's why when I see E3 footage and all that of something really big happening in a game like driving a truck into a building and blowing it up I think
"Yeah, fair enough. But how many times is that going to happen in the game?"
