Sampdoria have refuted claims that a deal for midfielder Andrea Poli has been struck with AC Milan.

Rumors spread that the Rossoneri were very close to sealing a deal for the 23 -ear-old but the Genoa based club has denied these links, stating that they have not even been contacted by Milan.

“If Milan want Poli then they must firstly make contact with us. They have to speak with us,” Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti said to Il Vero Milanista.

It is also believed that the midfielder is valued by Sampdoria at around €6 million if another club intends on buying him.

Juventus are also said to be interested in Poli, as they tried to negotiate a deal back in January but failed to do so.
