Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Rather than buying Fellaini for 22mio,paying him hefty wages and playing him in a position in which he played 2 years back,Why don't Arsenal just sign Capoue?
He is younger than Fellaini and has been playing as DM for quite sometime and he can be acquired for relatively lesser amounts(say 10-15mio) and can be lesser wages as well.
Even the Toulouse chairman is expecting Capoue to be sold this summer and I hope Arsenal don't disappoint him.
With the AW factor,he can definitely be signed easily when compared to Fellaini.

Not that it means anything(though I hope it does),Michu's player profile seems to be missing from the official Swansea website:
Is it a technical glitch or are Arsenal gonna welcome their first major signing of this summer

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Marseille have contacted Arsenal to see whether the north London club would allow struggling forward Gervinho to join the club on a season-long loan.
The Ivorian has struggled to make an impact in the Arsenal first team and has often found his role limited to impact substitute. However, he is still held in high regard in France where he helped Lille win the Ligue 1 title with a string of impressive performances.
French publication le10sport have reported that Marseille have offered to pay a portion of Gervinho's salary but it is believed that it will be difficult to persuade Arsenal to part with the player with the current deal on the table.
Gervinho arrived at the Emirates with a weight of expectation after scoring 14 league goals in Lille's title winning side. However, he has struggled to endear himself to supporters and has been unable to hold down a regular place in the side.
Last season he started just 12 Premier League games but manager Arsene Wenger was always looking for the positives in his displays and simply felt as though he lacked confidence.

@The Joke
Capoue is pretty much set for PSG.
PSG have some kind of agreement with Toulouse and they already sent of their most promising youths (Rabiot) on loan to them with the intention of buying Capoue a bit cheaper.
Think that ship has sailed,sadly.
Welcome to the forums, by the way.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Have PSG activated this clause for signing Capoue?
Don't they already have Matuidi and still they want Capoue...
BTW,PSG get to sign the best players of Toulouse just by sending their most promising youngsters on loan What sort of a deal is this...?I can only see PSG reaping benefits from this kinda deal.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Tolouse will be compensated with money too of course, but I think PSG are trying to make connections between certain clubs, and Tolouse is one of those clubs that has a history of producing talented players but fall short when holding on to them.
Smart move by PSG imho.

Plenty of teams do it, Real madrid do it in La liga. We used to have one with a Belgian team but it got stopped for some reason.

Fellainis price has risen only because of his new SS position and the goals he scored.. what we need is the old Fellaini as DM/b2b which should cost only 10-15 million at maximum and 60-80k in wages.. lets forget the price and sign him if he is willing to give away his SS role..

Mentioned that Rooney is keen on a move, too.

IMO we have got multitude of these so called technical players in our team already.Would rather prefer a guy with good physical presence who can outmuscle others and play simple passes.
And further this combination of good physical presence and technical ability will definitely cost us much more than the rumored 10-12mio within which we can get Capoue,if PSG don't activate his stupid clause.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
@Wilson, 300k??? I don't think he is that crazy.
But I'd rather pay Rooney 200k a week with a transfer fee of around £25 million, than splashing £22 million on Fellaini.
I mean, geez, we can get Lars Bender for much lesser than that.

Aren't we trying to sign Mignolet...?read a lot of articles stating so...if we do manage to sign him there will be some serious competition between the sticks..

the funny thing is 25 million + 200k on a 4 year contract = 65 million..
that is 65/70 of the overhyped transfer kitty spent on one player... can we make any more signings ?

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
I don't think Arsenal are trying to sign Mignolet or Begovic. I believe Wenger sees Szczesny as our long-term GK. Julio Cesar would be a good stop gap solution but if what Ornstein is saying is true we're not in for him.
Maybe we're sticking with Fabianski and Szczesny?

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
If arsenal somehow manage to get wayne rooney its going to be good for england in the world cup. Roney walcott wilshere gibbs and jenkinson all may play a vital role in that England squad. Arsenal will be like Barcelona is for Spain. Non only will it improve co ordination and understanding excluding gibbs its the entire right side of the team from attackto defend.
Might also get some favors from FA.

Think he has deleted those tweets now. Can't find them.
Both are positive news though. Wish Rooney can lower his personal demands. 180k p/w with added incentives would be good
