He is completely awful in that Xavi role though. Barcelona could do way better to sign whoever they want to play there.

Liverpool went through the wage cleaning in the past two seasons or so... I think between players sold, released, or retiring we've saved over 50m on wages (Cole, Jovanovic, Carragher, Torres, etc etc). Performance-based wage packages help as well.
