EL Winner to get a CL spot from 2015/06 season

People are going to take it more seriously regardless of this rule solely because Chelsea won it this year and single handedly turned it into a prestigious tournament.

Yeah scrap the 3rd in Group Europa reward.

Good about time they changed it back.

Finally making a change any logical person would have made.

Hopefully the away goal rule is next

so is the winner going to get another team that actually deserved qualification knocked out or what?

this kind of token qualification is idiotic, no winner should automatically get promoted to anything... if you win the uefa cup and qualify for the cl at the same time, good for you, if you don't, you don't belong in the cl, simple as that, same as winning the cl and not finishing top 4 in the league

if you don't qualify for the competition through the proper means there's no reason to reward you for throwing the domestic league under the bus

For the people that think the EL shouldn't be rewarded so handsomely, would it make any better if the winner of EL be placed in the CL preliminary round. And if they win they go to the group stages?

Well what happens if both finalists are from a country with 4 UCL spots already? Would hate to see 6 teams in the CL from same country. That's the only downside to it. Perhaps the Europa League winner get's the last UCL spot in the league? like if Tottenham won the Europa League and they only finished 5th then they get UCL spot instead of the team who finished 4th in the league. This would be good, because teams wouldn't settle for 3rd or 4th place anymore, they would fight for the league title instead to be 100% sure of CL qualification. (yes Arsene Wenger, i am talking to u and Arsenal)

This would make the tournament much more intense for teams you guys have mentioned

Agree with this, and put the winner straight into the groups & the runner up into the playoff round.

Europa league will mean soooooooo much more now to everyone involved.

If I had it my way the countries with 4 CL spots would have to put one of them into their domestic cup (i.e FA, Copa Del Rey) anyway

Tbere needs to be some sort of counter measures to ensure that countries don't get too many teams in the CL.
