It seems that Bayern really nailed it with their signings this seasons. What's the word on the street on who chose them, Guardiola or the Sammer/Board?

Costa, huge unexpected success.
Coman, good unexpected success.
Vidal, ok expected success.
Kimmich, no idea.

Germans being shrewd and efficient in business nothing new there. Bayern maybe the most well run club.

Vidal was a bit underwhelming so far, but I don't think he is at his best yet after the Copa.

All reports point to Costa being Pep's prefered pick out of a list put together in collaboration, so that's probably the most 'Pep' transfer out of the rest.

Kimmich transfer wasn't instigated by Pep obviously, but was ok'd, or welcomed, after he'd seen him.
He's fantastic IMO. So far.

The main people working on and putting together the transfers are Sammer and Reschke.

Reschke is a transfer wonk with good relations all over the place (brought Carvajal to Leverkusen for example), who was brought in extra for that.
Obviously Pep and the rest talked about what profile is needed, wingers good in one v one was the main focus in summer, thus Costa and Coman came in.
Bayern had apparently tried to get Coman already when he moved from PSG to Juve.

So, who chose Coman and Vidal?

I'm askind this because Pep was not very good at Barça with transfers and very prima donnish.

"Me no likey super-Eto'o, me wants Ibrainmobilic. Me wantey Chigrishitinsky, he knowey what to do with the ball. Etc."

I think at Bayern it is very likely that Pep gives a list of characteristics he needs, the scouts/Reschke look if they can identify players that fit, then Reschke and Sammer will check the availability and price and present Pep a list of available fitting targets, and then Pep can choose whom he'd like of these.

What are your thoughts Hans? Did Pep embrace the responsibility for the signings at the begining of the seasons like he did at Barça sometimes?
