Re: The Official Confederations Cup thread
Ok, was an assumption Thx, I have no chance experience or knowledge with the European/SA history, rivalry, cultural conflicts past or present
So would it be right to say in general, Brazilians would support Portugal and Italy more than Spain in next years WC?
For that matter, a bit off topic, but which others teams do Brazilian ppl like in general apart from their own team? And which teams do they hate mainly apart from Argentina? What would happen if Messi manages to lift the WC in BRazil next year XD

Re: The Official Confederations Cup thread
LOL Nothing to do with Italian "ancestry" or whatever. The Brazilian crowd has been booing Spain since minute 1 against every opponent because they knew the final would be between Spain and Brazil. The Brazil fans are shitting their pants since the tournament has begun.
The Spain - Italy semifinal reminded me of the Spain - Portugal semifinal in the Euros last year. Let's see if the final will pan out in a similar fashion.

Re: The Official Confederations Cup thread
Andres Iniesta and Sergio Ramos are short-listed for the Confederations Cup Golden Ball along with Neymar, Paulinho, Andrea Pirlo and Luis Suarez.
FIFA released their six-man short-list for the award, which in the past has gone to the likes of Kaka, Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho.
It goes to the best player of the tournament and will be chosen by media representatives, announced straight after the Brazil-Spain Final on Sunday.
The runner-up receives the Silver Ball and third place a Bronze Ball.
All the six nominees play for teams that reached the final four of the Confederations Cup.
Neymar and Paulinho represent Brazil, Pirlo for Italy, while Luis Suarez plays for Uruguay.

Something tells me we could benefit from losing this tournament much more than we can from winning it.

In Other hand Italy has 5 players including the wry special Daniele De Rossi against Uruguay , don't like this squad without Pirlo,DDR, and buffon

We are not shitting in our pants The crowds always support the underdog, this has nothing to do with us wanting to knock Spain out before we face each other.I have been reading this crap for ages in punto pelota and AS, Spanish journalism is a joke.Dat superiority complexfutbol wrote:LOL Nothing to do with Italian "ancestry" or whatever. Brazilians don't support any one nation.. they could care less unless you have a family tie back to that nation like all the Asians in Brazil who supported Japan because they are 1st-2nd generation Japanese-Brazilians. Portugal is the last side we'd root for, Italy is among the old people and kids who have strong "Palestra Italia" backgrounds.
We don't like any team in general lol.. We hate Argentina... and any other team we face.. lmao. If Messi lifts the WC then expect a lot of boos and a lot of Argentine trolls.

There are (unconfirmed) reports that say ES has been coming to training late and hasn't been focusing 100% and whatnot

It's that disgrace of a haircut, it's clearly rooted into his brain now and can make some minor decisions for him such as where to go, how to feel etc.
Get rid of it before it gets rid of you ffs.

Re: The Official Confederations Cup thread
Even Prandelli notices something is wrong with ES
Prandelli: "From a physical perspective, El Shaarawy was doing just fine. Mentally he was drained. If El Shaarawy wants to be in the lineup he needs to give something more character-wise."

Scolari:"Quote me on this:'Spain will stop winning after the 2014 WC'."
(about Brazil's new style) : "Brasil played "jogo bonito" in 82 and we didn't win.Spain plays well, and wins. We also played well and won in 2002, but my philosophy is that "joga bonito" passes by, results are eternal"

Hardly an earth shattering prediction considering Xavi won't be around much longer after 2014. Here is to hoping for more decline (hopefully before the WC)

Re: The Official Confederations Cup thread
As i have already said if Spain don't go back to basics they won't even win 2014 IMO.
Yes i'm aware they are in a final but i can see the cracks starting to open up.
