March Madness

If Purdue was in it you know I would be cheering for them. I actually watch the odd Purdue game in the regular season, something I don't do for any other team.

That being said, I can't ignore where I've grown up and will be attending school, even if Purdue is mah basketball team. I hold them in similar esteem.

My boss and I wore Michigan State (me) and Michigan (him) polos, totally uncoordinated mind you, on the first day of our business trip.....we got some looks lol....especially when we were having drinks and shooting the breeze.

As for the tourney itself....Only way I can tolerate State going out (with a whimper as well) is that Michigan went out too, although they put up way more of a fight.

Only 1 Big Ten team left in it so gotta throw my support behind the Cheesehead Badgers against Kentucky. Florida to beat UCONN though hopefully.

When we had 50 seconds left with the ball we stalled for like 20 seconds left before shooting with like 5 seconds left. They then had 25 seconds to get the last shot off, and did get the 3 points with 5 seconds left, leaving us to rush the last shot.

Why the hell did we stall at 50 seconds giving them the last shot?

Again no one giving UConn a chance against Kentucky. I think that's the way the players like it though. And when you have the best player on the floor anything can happen.

turns out that win was a fluke in the sense that we shouldn't have won on a buzzer beater. We essentially dominated them all game yesterday. Outscored them 59-37 after the 4-16 start.

I'm riding with UCONN tonight, I only really like two players in the game (Napier and Randle) but I like Napier more.. I give him props for not jumping ship when he had the chance

When it comes to coaching, Cal is my kind of guy, just get a bunch of talent together and try to make it work, I would have the same philosophy if I were a coach tbh.. Ollie is very likeable coach as well though

Wasn't going to say this til after the game, but I fkn hate Calipari. Snake oil salesmen, he gets 5+ of the top 15 players every single year. He's hooked up with World Wide Wes a known NBA booster with ties to numerous pro players, etc. Pretty obvious he's either paying players or hooking them up some other way. Not only that he's just not a great coach. His entire offense is the dribble-drive. Drive, kick, drive, kick; eventually someones open from 3.

edit: I shouldn't say he's not that great of a coach. He's a solid coach, but not elite. The move when he changed his D to zone tonight was smart. It really slowed UConn down at the end of the 1st half.

Rumor has it the Calipari is off to the Lakers, so let's so what happens with that. But there's a reason he flopped once in the NBA.
