Re: Barcelona looking toothless
Mourinho learned his lesson against Barcelona. The whole argument of 'Barcelona can't do well against Stoke City' makes sense now because Madrid are just a glorified Stoke City. They are a Spanish team with virtually no Spanish DNA in their play. Half their goals in the past 3 matches against Barcelona have been corners alone, 1½ of them hoofballs and the other a cross.

Classico again on Tuesday... RM trashing Barca is getting boring already...gondov wrote:

If you don't have any logical response to what I said at least refrain from labelling me a Barcelona fan solely because I said something that you deemed was against Madrid.

Is there a rule in Spain that states you can't score from a corner?

Not at all. I'm just saying the facts. I don't understand why people have jumped on my statement.

LOL, he's bested us everywhere this season yet he's not gonna win La Liga. Ok. I'd congratulate Madrid on the win but I might get called butthurt given the direction of this thread. Although in a way I'm a bit glad this has happened because A. this just proves that everyone who bashed on Pep's "easy job" was dead wrong and B. Moudrid still won't win La Liga this season.OLpower wrote:Harmonica wrote:Yeah 13 points is a great victory.OLpower wrote:Mourinho may leave on an uncontested victory over Barcelona.
Mourinho over Barcelona this season:
Super Cup? Real victory
Cup? Real victory
Liga? One victory for Real and a draw.
Everywhere he has bested Barcelona this season. If he leaves at the end of this season, history books will remmeber how he was the man that ended up dominating one of the best team of all time. (in addition with the Inter victory)
The history books will look a bit more like this OL:
Mou, 1 La Liga, 1 CdR
Pep, 3 Ligas, 2 CLs, 2 CdRs, 2 CWCs, 1 UEFA SC
Not:
Mou beat Jordi Roura!!!!!! OMFG!!!!!!!

Madrid is superior to Barcelona, as evidenced by the thrashings that have occurred this season in every El Clasico.barca 2011 wrote:Ok, just please answer me this. Barca is more consistent against mid-table La Liga teams, as evidenced by their lead in La Liga.

Re: Barcelona looking toothless
If they were so superior they wouldn't be so behind would they? And I don't want to take it all out on Roura but you have to figure that the negative results might not be a coincidence.Omniscient wrote:Madrid is superior to Barcelona, as evidenced by the thrashings that have occurred this season in every El Clasico.barca 2011 wrote:Ok, just please answer me this. And please, they weren't "thrashings". Not like they used to be anyways.

Re: Barcelona looking toothless
Problems with Barca currently.
1. Pressing isn't as good as before. At times Diego Lopez could just walk with the ball.
2. Poor defending.
3. They keep passing it about in the following area:
When instead they need to get into this area in order to create chances:
I know it's hard, since teams are tactically good and don't allow them to get into that area, however they need to find a way around it.

History books will remember that Barcelona looked so dominant at one point, that Real was lost far behind before Mourinho took over. And that not only Mourinho stopped Barcelona Liga run, but he also completely turned the balance for Madrid in the clasico.
Who thinks today that Barcelona is the undisputed best team in the world? Much less people than 2 years ago.
Real progressively getting the better of Barcelona in the countless clasico broke the superior image of that Barcelona team.
Guardiola quitting when overtaken by Real also adds to Mourinho legacy in Real.

First off Mou didn't overcome Barca the second he stepped in. It took him a solid two years of losing hard.OLpower wrote:barca 2011 wrote:LOL, he's bested us everywhere this season yet he's not gonna win La Liga. Ok. Barca are definitely not Pep's Barca of two years ago but it's not like we're coming up empty of silverware while Madrid win it all. It's not a complete 360 is what I'm saying, at least not yet.
Real have gotten progressively more solid and it seems that they have our current game figured out for now. Good for them but again it wasnt overnight.
And your Pep comment? He may have left when he did but let's all keep in mind that he didn't leave BECAUSE of Mou. However if you use that logic and Mou leaves this summer, he would've gotten overtaken in the same exact way as now this season, he didn't win the Liga.

Mou's legacy at real hinges on Tuesday night's game.
1 laliga and 1 copa in 3-4 years isnt enough to cement legendary status in Madrid's history books.
His recent wins over us are impressive, tbh, however it will all come tumbling down if he gets knocked out if the CL.
