Mate, I wish I could have another weekend to watch season 3. Sadly, I'll have to watch another 12 months. Gonna "console" myself with shows like GOT, Hannibal & 24 coming back.

Actually it's not beyond the realms of possibility to have someone like that as president. Walker seems like a genuinely nice guy with a good moral character  who was also knowledgeable enough and intelligent. Unfortunately for him he was just not good at politics.

It's the the people they surround themselves with anyways that win and lose them elections. And Walker had Underwood behind him, not to mention countless other conniving politicians.

But sure I do agree the that show made president Walker seem very very weak.

If you're not good at politics you don't get to do politics at this high a level.

Anyways I need to vent again:

Oh yes you can BC, there are a plethora of inept politicians in high the levels in Congress and in the white house. You can easily be carried by other people in politics. Notice I'm not saying Walker is inept, he's a very smart man, but he's just too honest and honorable to really be able to stand a chance against sharks like Underwood.

Just finished the season.

Amazing. I ignored True Detective and The Walking Dead to finish this.

Lets be real, George W. Bush ran against Al Gore and got elected, then invaded Iraq, then got elected again...and I think we can both agree he wasn't any sort of political genius. Difference is he had the Underwoods of the world on his side rather than trying to steal his job.

Anyways I finished it last night, I think the moment you stop binging and you actually stop and digest what happened you start thinking "was that actually good?". There is so much politicking going around, much of it that I do not understand and seems ludicrous, that I'm just not sure how many things happened because they suit the plot or because that's something that the character would actually do. Walker in this regard is a huge issue because he is such a flip flopper that his character never seemed believable to me. It also doesn't seem likely to me that Frank would be able to get to where he gets being involved in such high profile scandals in a material way. Thought the season regressed as it went on, but maybe that's jut the result of forcing myself to stay up late and just finish it.

Season 2 was just a step up imo.

Ep. 1 was so good.
Spoiler:
Claire Underwood is like the ultimate wife. If more marriages were like Frank and Claire's in real life, a lot of shit in this world wouldn't have existed.

Kinda gutted that they release all the episodes at once. A little bit of suspense would've been good for the viewers. Every episode was good.

yeah but since this show was released all at once, the rules are a bit different. Everyone is going at their own pace. I think we agreed to put everything in spoilers until April 1st.

I wish they left out that too...

I hated it in season 1 already when they only implied they experimented in college...But I knew Frank was gonna f*ck Meechum when Claire said I've never heard you call him Edward...They always slightly had things going towards that,I didn't expect a threesome though.

Still as someone said,it made me alienate from Frank. The murders also did that for me,but this is too much.

I don't understand how it makes Frank less alpha, makes him more actually lol.

Since becoming VP him and Claire knew they'd have to only have each other so when Meechum saw Frank watching that 3-way porno it was foreshadowing the event. But it was so perverse how it went from looking like a family moment of the mom and dad cleaning the wound of young Meechum to an orgy lol.

But that's Frank. Gets what he wants.

My friend who had no understanding of US politics was able to enjoy and get the show well into the second season.

Don't be intimidated by the technical terms and that, they do a good job of making what's going on clear so I don't think you'd need to do any research on it unless something sticks out to you and you're interested in finding its exact meaning.
