Watched the first 4 epis so far. Can't stand Escobar's brazilian accent, but other than that a very enjoyable series.

His voice does seem kinda different compared to everyone else in the show lol & I don't even speak spanish

S2 can't come soon enough

I finished this a while ago, and while in general the Spanish accents were terrible (tons of Mexicans who can't do a Colombian accent) the production values were superb, as was the pacing, and I thought that for an American enterprise it was a refreshing take on the Americans/Locals. You're more used to things like Argo where the Americans are all depicted as heroes and the locals as brutes, but here the Americans were depicted as stupidly obsessed about communism, in so deep they lose their moral graps, or are addicted to violence. Meanwhile the locals were dealt with fairly, with both corrupt narcos and honest politicians/journalists/cops (if there is such a thing) and everything in between. This brought a level of nuance usually not seen in Hollywood.

Only thing I have no idea about is how they're going to make a S2? They covered something like 1 year per episode in the first season but they're going to have to drastically change that if they want more than a few episodes.

Yeah, I was hoping they would wrap up the Escobar story in the first season and move on to something else next year.

Not big on the actor playing Steve Murphy, thought he, as the narrator, was a bit meh, of course I know this is Pablo Escobar's story and he should take the spotlight, but still don't think his acting was that good sometimes.

Beside that everything was damn solid. I mean, nothing absolutely exceptional, but everything was just done very well. The middle episodes were definitely some of the stronger episodes imo.

3 eps in and it hasn't missed a beat. As addicting as the first season. I'll be done with it sometime tomorrow. Think that theme song is going to be my ringtone

Magnificent. I don't speak Spanish so fortunately I was able to truly take in Wagner Moura's intoxicating performance without any issues. If Season 1 Pablo was Golden Globe material then Season 2 Pablo is Emmy material. I fully expect him to be in the running. He may not win, but Moura deserves his place there. He did for Pablo what Vince D'Onofrio is doing for Kingpin on Daredevil: Humanizing a monster. And it made for captivating stuff.

Thought Pedro Pascal and Paulina Gaitan both delivered strong performances as well.

I consider myself pretty well informed on narco history, having watched several documentaries related to Pablo. I thought they did a fantastic job with this series.

Anyway, season 1 was gripping, wasn't particularly fond of the American protagonist, but it was good and I enjoyed, those who have finished season 2, how would you compare it to season 1?
