Lesnar would be good choice.

word is that Taker will not wrestle physical style because he's hurt. He's hesitant to go with a technical style ring general like punk so i dont think he's take the risk and face Lesnar (no matter how epic it would be)

Post by Onyx Thu Feb 21, 2013 2:49 pm

All talks of doing Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara at WrestleMania 29 have ended.

No word yet if this is still the plan but the Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio WrestleMania 29 match was going to be built up with an armbreaker vs. ankle lock storyline.

While The Miz is still using the Figure Four leglock, it appears the storyline of pushing him as the next Ric Flair is finished. His push will still continue as he has a movie coming out soon.

---------------

As of this past weekend, the top matches planned for WrestleMania 29 were The Rock vs. John Cena, Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio, Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar and CM Punk vs. The Undertaker.

Besides Lesnar vs. HHH, it's said that the rest of the matches could change between now and the pay-per-view. CM Punk could be added to the WWE Title match if The Undertaker doesn't end up working.

Jack Swagger's DUI & drug arrest on Wednesday throws another wrench in the plans. No word yet if WWE is planning to pull Swagger from WrestleMania.

A Ryback vs. heel Chris Jericho match has also been planned but there was no tease of the match on RAW when Ryback and Jericho partnered with Sheamus against The Shield.

With Jericho off television for several weeks, it appears WWE is going in a different direction with them as well. Sheamus vs. Mark Henry has been discussed, but we've yet to see any buildup there.

Top talents like Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Big Show, The Shield, Kane and Daniel Bryan are also without any obvious opponents headed into WrestleMania 29. Despite the lack of direction this year, there's a feeling that the show will still be a huge success.

-------------------

The planned main event for WrestleMania XXX in 2014 from New Orleans is The Rock vs. Brock Lesnar. Paul Heyman alluded to the blockbuster match on Twitter this week.

WWE has been purposely keeping Lesnar and The Rock away from each other as best as they can, although they will both be on RAW together the week before and after WrestleMania 29.

--------------------

Vince McMahon is said to be tired of the CM Punk vs. John Cena feud. Their match on next week's RAW will reportedly be the last time we see them cross paths for a while.

WWE has been teasing a Ryback heel turn lately, which could lead to a feud with John Cena after WrestleMania 29.

WWE's writing team has been in somewhat of a rut lately, with a lot of disagreements and politics. The recent flip flopping on the Cody Rhodes and

Damien Sandow breakup is seen as one of example of poor planning and lack of commitment to storylines. Many of WWE's top talents including The Rock, CM Punk, John Cena and others are pitching their own ideas and not relying on creative to direct their characters.

----------------------

The Vince McMahon vs. Paul Heyman fight on RAW next Monday will likely set up the Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H match at WrestleMania 29. Lesnar is already confirmed for the show so expect run-ins.

If The Undertaker does commit to wrestle at WrestleMania 29, Monday's RAW from Dallas is a logical opportunity for him to return.

One scenario discussed would be The Undertaker costing CM Punk his match with John Cena, and a shot at The Rock at WrestleMania, setting up the match between them.

There is talk within WWE about how creative is handling Dolph Ziggler's push. While he had strong wins over Randy Orton at Survivor Series and John Cena at TLC, Ziggler has been constantly losing on WWE TV lately.

He is still in line for a World Heavyweight Title run but the momentum he had at the end of 2012 has stalled out.

They are struggling with the lack of top carders. People won't buy a ppv with Ziggler vs ryback as the main event.

I doubt Ziggler will be in a main event match.

He has the World Heavyweight Championship briefcase and the WHC doesn't usually main event.

No confirmed word yet on what kind of actions, if any, WWE will take against Jack Swagger after his arrest on Tuesday night. The only thing we've heard is that they were considering "booking changes" which can't be good for Swagger.

------------------

People close to Steve Austin believe that he will never wrestle again. If Austin is going to try for one more match, it will likely be at WrestleMania XXX in 2014 when he is 49 years old.

Extreme Rules:

WWE is advertising The Rock, John Cena, CM Punk, Randy Orton and Sheamus for the event on their official Facebook page.

Should Rock be working Extreme Rules, a nice scenario is for Rock to go over Cena at Mania clean (send myself and the other fans home happy) and for Cena to get his win and the title at ER before Rock jets out. Cena can then go on and feud with a heel Ryback or something.

Brock could cost Rock the title at ER and set up the money match at Mania XXX. Both are part-timers so they could easily build the feud over the course of a longer period.

Ideally, if Brock and Trips go at it again.. Lesnar beats HHH and anyone else he faces along the way to build him up as a monster before the big showdown with Rock. He's got an extended contract, so it's not like he will just disappear.

With ER being in St. Louis, I would not be surprised if we see something big from Randy Orton also.

The Wrestling Observer reports that WWE sources note that Jack Swagger was scheduled to win the World Heavyweight Title from Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania 29.

No word yet on what his arrest means for booking plans but WWE creative was working late on Wednesday night to come up with ideas, which doesn't sound good for Swagger and Zeb Colter.

There's talk that if WWE officials saw fit to change the direction of the match, then Dolph Ziggler would most likely get the WrestleMania match with Del Rio.

If Swagger ends up suspended and loses the WrestleMania match, the arrest altogether would cost him upwards of $250,000.

Lesnar and Taker had a terrific feud back in 2003-04. They had lots of matches for the WWE Championship including No Holds Barred, Hell In A Cell and the first and so far last Biker Chain match.

man i was watching the last Nitro of WCW the other day, reliving the past and thinking where wrestling would be if WCW was still around....imagine if Eric Bishoff was able to buy it, or if Vince didnt bury them because his ego needed it...or if Shane indeed purcased the WCW and went head to head with his father...damn that would've been good

RealGunner wrote:what really happened to WCW ?

As 2000 came to a close, a number of potential buyers for WCW were rumored to show interest in the company. Ted Turner, however, was still in charge of Time Warner prior to the final merger of AOL and Time Warner in 2001, and most offers were rejected. Eric Bischoff, working with Fusient Media Ventures, made a bid to acquire the company in January 2001 (shortly following the AOL/Time Warner merger), and it appeared that WCW would continue.

One of the primary backers in the WCW deal backed out, however, leaving Fusient to take that offer off the table while it attempted to bring a new deal around. In the meantime, the World Wrestling Federation began speaking to the new AOL Time Warner about acquiring the WCW brand. Jamie Kellner was handed control over the Turner Broadcasting division, and deemed WCW wrestling to be out of line with their image. As a result, WCW programming was canceled on both TBS and TNT, leaving Vince McMahon's company, which at the time had an exclusive deal with Viacom, free to acquire the trademarks, video libraries and a few contracts.

During the sale, WCW was in litigation, with various lawsuits pending, and AOL Time Warner still had to pay various performers their guaranteed deals, as many had contracts directly with the parent company, and not with WCW. Since Vince McMahon only acquired select assets, the company that was once WCW became known as Universal Wrestling Corporation once again; its only purpose now, however, was to deal with old contracts and lawsuits.

Basically Vince bought them out when they were going under, if they managed themselves better they would probably still be around.

There is actually a very good documentary about the rise and fall of WCW that explains it all in great detail.
