The best GK in the league has been LLoris followed easily by De Gea. Easily.

I haven't seen anything special of Lloris tbh. I watch a lot of Spurs and I have rarely seen him pull off those 'wtf, how the fck did he save that?' kinda saves that DDG saves on a regular occurence,

Don't get me wrong, he's a very good keeper, but for me, DDG has more quality.

Lloris for me is the best gk in Europe. De gea is the 2nd best gk in the prem and the best shot stopper

Lloris has been a blessing, a miracle for Tottenham. Amazing keeper. I think he's been the best in the league, and perhaps even in Europe.

He was benched I don't know how long...probably about a month (3-5 games) after he moved to Tottenham. AVB wanted him to learn English, get accustomed to the defense and the English game and how he's going to play, and then he took over for Freidel. He's played every game in the EPL since then, and has been nothing short of astounding.

Buffon isn't WC. Still using past hype for him. Good gk, reflexes gone. Still good at organising the backline.

Neuer is a mistake waiting to happen

Ben Amos: “Out of all the saves he made I think this is right up there. The occasion’s the biggest thing here. It was a massive game, away at Real Madrid in the Champions League. If that had gone in we could have struggled a little. It was an important save at an important time. The ball’s come around a defender, which can be tough, although the Madrid player probably couldn’t have hit it in any other spot in that situation.”

BA: “This one’s crazy! But, fair play, he’s kept it out. To even think of doing that is genius. But it’s probably instinct. He won’t have thought about doing that – that was just his reaction in the spur of the moment. Taming Torres

BA: “That’s a really good save, arguably as good as the first one against Real Madrid. In that situation, Torres could have gone either way – back across him to the far post or, as he has done, to the near post – so he has to wait long enough until he makes contact and sees where it’s heading. You’d expect him to go to the back post here but he’s gone towards the near post and David’s clawed it out with a strong hand.”

BA: “At the time I didn’t think he got a touch on this. I was on the bench and thought the ball hit the post. But when you watch it again you realise what a good save it was.”

Leggy at the lane

v Tottenham, White Hart Lane
BA: “He’s started to go one way and then he’s been quick enough to react and thrust out his leg and his arm – I don’t actually know what part of the body he’s saved that with – and turn it around the post. Again, though, he’d have been in similar situations in training plenty of times and in matches it comes down to instinct. I know Tottenham ended up getting a late equaliser but at that stage of the game it was a massively important save.”

He's the ultimate big game player all those saves against top quality opposition apart from Fulham (no disrespect).

I wouldn't trade him for any goalkeeper in the world.

He is the best thing happened to us in the recent past.
Hope we can keep hold of him as there will be temptations 2 or 3 years later from those giant Spanish clubs. pale

I love the guy. Wonderful GK.

For me, he has been our best player this season. I said this in the matchday thread, if he had a competent defence in front of him, he would be unstoppable.

David de Gea could be offered new Manchester United deal

Manchester United manager David Moyes has hinted that goalkeeper David de Gea will soon be offered a new contract.

The Spaniard overcame a shaky start to his career at Old Trafford and has emerged as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.

De Gea played his part in helping United advance to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, pulling off a superb double save as he kept a clean sheet in Wednesday's 3-0 win over Olympiakos, as United progressed 3-2 on aggregate.

Moyes paid a glowing tribute to the 23-year-old, and believes he can still develop further.

"David de Gea has been terrific," Moyes said. "He has been great. He came in as a good young goalkeeper and he is turning into a great goalkeeper with a lot more to come."

De Gea, who has two years remaining on his current deal, has been linked with a summer move to Barcelona, but Moyes appears determined to hang onto one of his key men.

"The club are always going to keep their best players," Moyes added.

Meanwhile, De Gea is looking forward to the challenge of keeping Bayern Munich at bay when United take on the reigning European champions in the last eight of the Champions League.

"You've got to be honest and say we haven't been too fortunate in the draw," De Gea told United Uncovered.

"I suppose everyone would agree that they probably are the strongest outfit left in the tournament.

"You're going to get a tough team at this stage, but the main thing is that we go there with confidence now.

"It will be great to see them both here and in Germany for the away leg," De Gea added.

"I get on really well with Thiago and Javi, we have got a fairly close relationship.

"It will be great to see them but let's hope, as great as they are, that they're not quite on top form when it comes to playing in those two games."

I thought he was so error prone though Proud

Only the PL (was made before the season ended, he didn't make any further errors anyway), but even if it included all comps he'd still have the least amount of errors (Sunderland only).
