The Germany international had already agreed a move to White Hart Lane on a bosman move in the summer, but will now move immediately for a fee of £1.5 million

Basically with Lyon, you need to pay up. They unloaded Bastos and have no pushing need to get rid of anyone else unless they get a decent offer.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 3
Three English Premier League clubs are hunting Marseille midfielder Morgan Amalfitano as the January transfer window enters its most frenetic phase.
According to French daily La Provence, QPR, West Ham and Reading are all keen on the 27-year-old and could launch a swoop before the window slams shut.
And the situation at the Stade Velodrome for the player is less than clear.
Amalfitano wants to stay in France, while coach Elie Baup wishes to keep hold of him.
Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo though has not closed the door on selling the midfielder.
The midfielder joined Marseille in the summer of 2011, completing a free transfer from Lorient.
Amalfitano won his first cap for France last year, being capped in a friendly against Germany.
If he did head to England, he could come face-to-face with his brother Romain Amalfitano, who turns out for Newcastle United.

Good. Morgan Amalfitano has been garbage and has been benched. He needs to go somewhere else.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 3
Everton defender John Heitinga is determined to stay and fight for a place in David Moyes' first-team following his FA Cup heroics.
The Netherlands international netted a late winner in the 2-1 fourth-round triumph at Bolton on Saturday to keep Everton's cup hopes alive.
Heitinga has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park during this month's transfer window after finding regular playing time limited this campaign, taking a back seat to Phil Jagielka and Sylvain Distin.
But it is thought Moyes is keen to keep his squad intact and 29-year-old Heitinga, voted the club's player of the season last term, is keen to stay and battle for a place.
He told the Liverpool Echo: "I'm working hard to get my place back in the team and I'm a fighter so I'll never give up.
"If the manager makes another decision and doesn't put me in the team that's his decision, and the only thing I can do is focus on the time I do get. Hopefully I can show everybody that I'm still the same person that I was last season.
"The most important thing as a player is that you believe in yourself and give everything you have, then the rest follows.
"The team is performing really well this season, but as a player you need a couple of games to get back at your level. I've spoken to the manager - he's happy with me and I'm happy with Everton."

Re: January Transfer Rumours 3
AZ Alkmaar coach Gertjan Verbeek admits Adam Maher would be 'perfect' for Arsenal, but is reluctant to sell.
The Gunners are among those said to be keen on the highly-rated 19-year-old midfielder.
Manchester City have also been linked with the talented playmaker, with the youngster having made rapid progress this season.
Alkmaar are aware that a deal is likely to be done sooner rather than later, with it difficult for Dutch clubs to keep prized assets out of the clutches of a rival once their promise is noted.
Verbeek is hoping Maher will see out the season in the Eredivise, but concedes that he would prefer to do business with Arsenal if a transfer is to be pushed through.
He told Studio Voetbal: "I think Arsenal is a perfect club for him. With Arsene Wenger, who worked with young talents like him before.
"He can get the most out of himself at Arsenal. Look at Robin van Persie, he joined Arsenal at a young age and look what he achieved."

Re: January Transfer Rumours 3
Reports in the British Press have suggested that Milan have offered Kevin-Prince Boateng in a swap-deal for Mario Balotelli.
The Daily Express believe that the Rossoneri could use the former Ghana international as a sweetener in their proposed move for the 22-year-old striker.
Stories in both the English and the Italian media have suggested that the two clubs have been at loggerheads over the asking-price of the Italy international.
But the tabloid claim that Massimiliano Allegri's side may be willing to let the midfielder go in order to capture Balotelli.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 3
Norwich are preparing an improved £7m offer for Celtic striker Gary Hooper. The SPL side insist they want £8m for the 25-year-old but Norwich have offered £4.5m.
Manchester City are expected to announce they have sold striker Mario Balotelli, 22, for about £17m on Monday.
Wigan are set to make an improved offer for Barnsley defender John Stones.
The Latics tabled a bid of £1million, with half of the fee paid immediately and the rest in the summer, earlier this month but saw that rebuffed by the Championship side.
However, talkSPORT understands Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is ready to make an improved offer for the highly-rated full-back as he aims to fight off interest from Everton and Southampton.
Martinez has made Stones, 18, one of his top transfer targets during this window and wants to push through a deal to provide competition for Ronnie Stam.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 3
Sky Sports understands that Queens Park Rangers have enquired as to the availability of Besiktas' Manuel Fernandes.
It is believed that the Premier League strugglers are keen to take the midfielder on loan.
Harry Redknapp is eager to bolster his ranks and aid QPR's efforts to steer clear of relegation trouble.
He has worked with Fernandes before, with the Portugal international having spent time on loan at Portsmouth back in 2006.
The tricky playmaker also took in a spell at Everton in 2008, so knows all about life in England.
It is, however, looking like QPR will need to push a little harder if they are to force a deal through, with Besiktas reluctant to sanction a loan agreement.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 3
Going back a few pages, I wasn't comparing Bony to Drogba... I was making fun of the fact that others would. Bony is no more the "new Drogba" than Altidore is. People just have this odd obsession with overrating every strong, black player that bursts onto the scene and immediately labeling him the "new Drogba" or comparing the player to Drogba.
I thought Mole understood sarcasm...

Re: January Transfer Rumours 3
God, can you imagine how much more time Villa would spend injured if he went to Arsenal?
Anyways, Iturbe just tweeted "all that's missing is the hook misters, very happy", it looks like he's going to River after all
