Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
Capoue is an athletic version of Alonso. He covers the area in front of the defense but is also a great passer, especially long passes. A beast in the air too.
Tbh, he's fallen off form in December. But i think that has to do with Toulouse's attack being putrid and having to cover for Zebina's ineptitude.

Oh right, Arsenal should definitely buy someone like that
Also you say he's fallen off since December? i don't much but i would bet good money that it's because of all the reports and January window and possible of a big move fast approaching.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
On Llorente's contract details:
Some media outlets say Juve have readied a 4 year contract worth €4.5m + bonuses and there are some other sources say its again ,going to be a 4 year contract but wages of €4m a season.
Either ways,he's going to be joint highest earner(with Buffon) at Juventus.

Should of got Capoue instead of Song. Song has done surprisingly well, but still...we were looking hard at him and I think he is, or will be, the better player.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
I said in the summer Song is a very good player and was one of the best midfielders in the PL last season....
There's a lot of BS that has been said about him because he's not a very good DM in Arsenal's system but he's not a DM anyway.
I also said they would miss him more than they have RVP and if you look at their problems that has turned out to be true also.

A player that is made for the EPL is Bafe Gomis of Lyon. He is available for 10 mil euros. I would think that a team like the Spurs or Liverpool could use him... but what do i know lol.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
Song can play with the ball, I dont know why anyone would deny that.
Without the ball, someone have questions..but I am starting to think, his problems with the DM position at Arsenal were simply team tactics.
I dont think anyone told him he has to stay in front of the defence, because we do and he does it perfectly well. He has resisted the urge very well.
I also think its Arteta. When you have a player next to you who doesnt move vertically up the field when your in possession, of course if you have the final ball he has, you will. Someone has to move up, you both cant stay.
I think all he needed was a little specific instruction and playing next to the right players.
Not to say holding midfield is his best position mind, we dont see his final balls anymore and he is a little bit slow when he has to cover alot of ground. But he can play the holding position, I think he has proven that.

Yeah i meant he's not a DM in Arsenal's set up, seems to be ok with Barca and i agree with pretty much all of that.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
Anytime see a newspaper linking Madrid with a La Masia product, you can write that paper off or author of the article off as completely lacking credibility.
This is not to say that Real Madrid won't buy players that have played for Barca ... happened in the past like Figo and R9. But not La Masia products lol.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
Another issue is, when Barca and Madrid directly do deals there is either a difference in power or the player isnt wanted.
When you signed Figo, we was struggling for 4th, you were riding high.
When we got Enrique, you didnt want him.
We had to go through you indirectly to get Etoo, you didnt want him.
When you got Saviola, his contract expired with us because we didnt want him. Didnt have to deal with us, but you get the point.
Barca and Madrid dont sell to each other when everything is on even terms.

Liverpool will pay Joe Cole £50k a week for the next 18 months as part of deal with West Ham, who will only be contributing £30k a week.

Not for the winter... but there's a big rumor on the OM boards that Ben Arfa, if there are no health concerns, has a pre-agreement with Manchester United to join this summer.

Real Betis coach Pepe Mel:
"Benat's clause is €20 million and he will only leave for €20 million (around £16.2m)," Mel said. "To sell him for anything less would be a disaster. The club must defend its position and Benat knows that. To be able to go the market and find a replacement, the only number is €20 million.
"He has one more year left on his contract and he can fulfill that."

I'd take Ben Arfa, would been an improvement over Young and current form Valencia....nani on the right, ben arfa on the left
been a fan of his since his OM days

Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
Ben Arfa shits all over anything Man Utd have in wide areas but they would have to pay a lot of money to get him.
So far under Ashley any big name players we have sold has been replaced and then some
If players leave then so be it as long as they are replaced properly i'm not bothered and so far we have done that.

Yeah... Ben Arfa has 2 years left on his deal after this summer. So he will be moved if he keeps form in the next 18 months. I don't think his new wage demands will be something Newcastle would want to meet.
Besides, you can just move Marveaux wide and things will be ok.
Tough to replace a talent like Ben Arfa though.

I still want James Rodriguez from Porto first and foremost
Ben Arfa is a nice back up plan tho, probably a bit cheaper too

It would be similar to Ba in the sense at some point we will offer him a new contract. ( probably this summer)
If he accepts great, if not we will move him on and try and get as much money for him as possible.
If Ba didn't have his clause we would have probably sold him for around 15-20m.
The only thing that keeps me calm about it is knowing if he leaves we will get big money for him which gives us the opportunity to strengthen the team as a whole like we did with Carroll.
Would hate to see him leave though regardless, probably the most talented player we have had since Beardsley.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
Liverpool have been linked with Palermo playmaker Josip Ilicic, but his agent says there is no substance to the reports.
Brendan Rodgers is still in the market for creative talent, having already added Daniel Sturridge to his Anfield ranks during the January transfer window.
Ilicic was rumoured to be among those under consideration by the Liverpool coaching staff, with the Slovenia international having shone in Serie A since moving to Italy in 2010.
Speculation has suggested that an offer could be put to Palermo in an effort to test their resolve, but Ilicic's representative has sought to play down talk of a possible transfer being put in place.
"Ilicic moving to Anfield? Please, I don't know anything at all about that," Amir Ruznic told Ekipa.
"I haven't spoken to anybody about such a move.
"Palermo would not want a transfer to happen. I had a meeting with Palermo boss Maurizio Zamperini and he doesn't want to hear about this kind of scenario."
