Yohan Modric wrote:Fiorentina are said to be very close to signing Villarreal’s Italian international Giuseppe Rossi according to reports.
According to www.gianlucadimarzio.com, there are minor details that must be finalized before the deal can become official.
Rossi has been linked with moves away from the Spanish club for months, but it appears as though Fiorentina have won the sweepstakes to sign the 25-year-old.
Fiorentina will pay €10 million to Villarreal with bonuses tied to goals and appearances that could increase the transfer to €16 million.
Rossi will arrive in Florence on Friday or Saturday and could be in the stands for Sunday’s match as Fiorentina host Pescara in their first match of 2013.
Rossi is still recovering from his second major knee surgery in the past 15 months and it he is not expected to return to training until mid-March.
Despite his injuries, Fiorentina appear to be convinced that he will return to being the player that impressed for Villarreal and will no doubt provide an exciting option for Vincenzo Montella moving forward.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAS PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN
My dream was to see both Rossi and JoJo at Pool linking up with Suarez but this will do as well.

Something's very wrong if that team doesn't finish in the top half of the table.
The NUFC team has always been good this season (Basically the same that finished 5 last season). The problem is Pardiola

Apart from having shit tonnes of injuries and going away from the style and system that got us 5th then yeah......

The Telegraph reports - "Fabricio Coloccini wants to leave the club to join former team San Lorenzo, according to his father."
The Argentine is "trying his best to find an elegant way to leave" according to the youth team director at his former club, but says his contract could complicate matters.
Coloccini's father, Osvaldo, who represented San Lorenzo as a player and is now the youth team director, and says that the defender is keen to return to the team he represented over 10 years ago, on loan from AC Milan.
"Fabricio wants to play for San Lorenzo and he is trying his best to find an elegant way to leave Newcastle," Coloccini's father told Indirecto on TyC Sports.
"We don't know what Newcastle will come up with, but Fabricio is trying to rescind his contract because he wants to be back at San Lorenzo.
"His contract is very good and that could complicate things in an attempt for him to leave Newcastle."
Coloccini joined the Magpies in 2008 from Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna for a fee close to £10 million.
But Alan Pardew had a go at the defender after the fixtures at Old Trafford and Arsenal, suggesting he was "well below his normal form".

Di Marzio is a pretty reliable 'source'..Even more reliable than the actual newspapers lol like GDS and CDS.So this deal is as good as done me thinks.
Second best defense in Italy atm statistically speaking, midfielder with highest assists in the league(Borja),they just needed the cherry up top to complete their team.(Mind you Toni has already done more than what was expected of him). This is a risky signing but i believe its a risk worth taking imo especially for that price. They sure are making the push for qualifying for the CL ,other teams in contention for CL spots need to be wary.

Whilst Madrid may not represent a wise move either for his career ,i rather see him playing for Real than that crappy Manchester side.
Plus when Mou leaves it will also give an opportunity for them to build the team around Spanish nationals.

I suspect Madrid is about to go through it's usual self combustion and picking the flavor the month and selling half the team for whats hot at the moment. Dutch flavor, then German, Portuguese, now Spanish nationals mixed with a bit of Falcao
Key to winning is building a team that can learn each other and grow with each other. Rebuilding every 2 years with new super stars isn't gonna get it done.

It's BS mate.....
Coloccini’s father, Osvaldo, was recently quoted as telling Indirecto on TyC Sports that: "Fabricio wants to play for San Lorenzo and he is trying his best to find an elegant way to leave Newcastle."
However Marcelo Lombilla, Coloccini’s agent, has rubbished talk of a move away from Newcastle, stating the player recently signed a long-term contract at the club and insisting reports of a potential transfer are not to be believed.
"The San Lorenzo thing arises because of a personal matter, and because his father is at the club," Lombilla told Radio 9.
"He has only just renewed his contract six months ago.
"These stories always generate a buzz and generate illusions, but they are just illusions and nothing more.
"These things written I just cannot believe."
Don't know why anyone would believe it but meh....

The Times say Moussa Sissoko is close to Spurs..
Holtby and Sissoko on free deals .That would be pretty impressive business.

I still don't understand why Spurs want Sissoko tbh.
They already have Dembele for that role
Sandro is a better DM, would make for some impressive depth though.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
Moussa Sissoko is much better than Sandro because he's not a pure DM. He was a CB that then became a DM and now a B2B. He's played 3 positions in 5 years because people felt that he could do a lot more than just defend. And he actually played winger at France NT against Spain and Italy lol.
The way modern football is evolving, you can't have many one position specialists... you don't want midfielders or forwards that can just play one role. You want guys that can move around so you can make in game adjustments as necessary.
When the Spurs have problems, it's because teams concentrate of Bale and Dembele while allowing Sandro to play free. He's not dangerous and becomes turnover prone when he is forced to do more. He has the same issue in Brazil NT. Not saying that Sissoko is some great offensive player... but he will attack you and make runs if you ignore him. Very much like Matuidi does at PSG...

I don't understand why Arsenal are not interested in Sissoko or any defensive/box-to-box midfielder
All I see is strikers, CB's and goalkeepers being linked with lol

Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
I agree with that sports that's why i want to move Tiote out for someone like him.
I just wasn't sure that was in Spurs thinking tbh, if they want to go with Sissoko and Dembele then fair enough.
Just seems a bit pointless if you already have Dembele and you consider Sandro to be first choice.

Yeah, i was gonna say... Newcastle have the same problem because teams tend to leave him free and focus on the others. Tiote is incapable of being dangerous lol.
Capoue is better than Sissoko btw. Surprised people aren't moving on him.

I'm still hoping Wenger is preparing a cheeky bid. Heard he has a low release clause, something between £5m and £10m.

Wenger on Holtby:
Wenger said: "We have looked at him, yes," but that is as far as he would be drawn on the Germany midfielder.
----------
Fenerbahçe are reported to have made a €12 million move for Montpellier attacking midfielder Younes Belhanda.
Club representatives Ömer Temelli and Hasan Çetinkaya have travelled to France in order to strike a deal with La Paillade.
---------------
Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has confirmed that club have turned down a €17million bid for star striker Alvaro Negredo.
The Spain international has been linked with a host of clubs in recent months with Chelsea, Tottenham, Sunderland and Juventus all reported to be interested.
Now Sevilla have insisted that they are in no hurry to sell Negredo and they don't need the money, and this is underlined by the rejection of the bid.
"The club does not need to sell any player, not now or in June," said del Nido.
"Alvaro Negredo will not leave the club unless a spectacular proposition arrives.
"In the last few weeks we have rejected an offer of €17million from a club at the top European level."

We have that problem in quite a few areas
Until today our RB offered f*ck all, since Cabaye has been injured we had that problem in midfield and in attack Ben Arfa gets triple teamed
If we sign Remy on top of Debuchy and Cabaye comes back that shouldn't be a problem anymore.
Also isn't Capoue a specialist DM? or have i got that wrong.

Re: January Transfer Rumours 2
Capoue is an athletic version of Alonso. He covers the area in front of the defense but is also a great passer, especially long passes. A beast in the air too.
Tbh, he's fallen off form in December. But i think that has to do with Toulouse's attack being putrid and having to cover for Zebina's ineptitude.
