Ramsey creates something like the 3rd or 4th highest amount of chances out of the whole squad. He is creative despite his flaws.

In any case, assuming we buy a holding player and Cazorla plays out wide, our midfield depth will look like this:

New Mid/Coquelin/Diaby --- Arteta/Ramsey

Wilshere/Rosicky

With the added option of Cazorla who can play in Wilshere's and Arteta's roles and Chamberlain who could probably play AMC for a couple of games.

Don't get me wrong, Holtby is really talented and a player I like, but a player like him isn't really a priority. We have plenty of creative players now and will do for the next couple of years; doesn't matter if Rosicky and Arteta are getting old, they aren't players reliant on their physical attributes and their intelligence will make up for that.

It's not even creativity we're lacking. We need better movement and productivity from our flanks and central striker, not from our midfield three. That's just a balance issue.

You can't just start signing players because they're going to sign for Spurs. What happens if we block Holtby's move but Spurs decided to sign Willian instead? Do we go and bid £25mil for Willian, too?

You just have to accept that Spurs can attract very good players now.

David Villa update:

Barcelona journalist @quimdomenech, speaking on @PUNTOPELOTA (Spanish sports programme) says David Villa WON'T be leaving Barcelona this month, as both the club are relecutant to let him go mid-season, and Villa's wife is heavily pregnant and doesn't want the stress of moving abroad right now. However, Arsenal have shown more interest in Villa than any other club, and the player likes the idea of signing for Arsenal, and living in London. Arsenal the favourites for his signature in the summer.

This summer he could go for 15 milion at most. I think a player like Villa for 15 milion is worth buying even if it's for two seasons.

I think Sniejder is worth it. He's available for free according to many press sources. He's 28, top class and a 3 year contract would be the same as a 15m fee plus 100k per week. I agree that Villa is unlikely due to his wife's pregnancy but I would like a couple of WINNERS signed up. We don't have any at the moment!
