AC Milan to make request for 14-year-old Mastour to play in Serie A

Kid looks good on the vid.

The biggest problem for me is not the physical adaptation, he might take a little roughing up but he'll get accustomed to it. There are guys smaller than him playing professional football. Not to mention there's a relatively relaxed tempo in these games.

The larger issue is what it does for his development. There are a whole range of issues that could develop, from it inducing a sense of entitlement to him not being able to mentally shoulder the responsibility.

I would be happy if he is allowed to train with the first team, not fitness training though.

Its not about size, its about how developed are his tissues and bones, and tough injury at this age might stick with him forever.

This makes sense to me though, because its a lower level and more important Papadopoulos is physically very mature. He has the body of a full grown man for as long as I seen him.

This guy on the other hand is a lightweight and I would imagine would get smashed around.It would be very hard to referee thats for sure.

I've watched some games he has played and already he is way too good for the u16's. clearly Primavera is the next step. Serie A is too big of a jump.

Just look at Halilovic playing for Dinamo Zagreb's first team and doing well at the age of 16 only.

14 yo !! come on he still is a kid . let him progress correctly.

I see no positive to this.

Kid underperforms: He's a flop, too early to deal with that kind of criticism.
Kid overperforms: Next Maradona, will never live up to the hype and pressure (ask Bojan, ie Barca's Raul).
Kid performs just fine: He held his own at 14, will become world class player!

Not to mention the high risk of injury because of playing someone who barely entered puberty against fully developed athletes. There's a reason there's a 16 year old minimum, it should be respected.

Then again I don't really know anything about him, and if the technical team see him as fit to play in Serie A then they probably know better than me

In the league, all players must be under 20, however, 2 overaged players are allowed in eliminatory rounds.

Players in Primavera League must be under 18 on 1 January of the year that season started, with limited number of overage player. (In the past, 19, For example, in 2009–10 season, players be must born on or after 1 January 1990, while the overage players must be born on or after 1 January 1989.) Since 2012–13 season the age limited had lowered from 19 to 18.

So Mastour would be prohibited from playing in the Primavera, let alone Serie A.

He looks to have a strong build to me..

Well look again, he is playing against other children.

The ref looks like king kong compared to them.

He is a normal sized 14 year old, which is not big enough. Imagine him running into Walter Samuel.

Giovinco is fairly strong and has a decent build for his height. Even then he gets pushed around a bit but he'll go straight back in and chop his man

Can you really see that 14 year old in the picture getting thrown around then jumping back into challenges? He doesn't strike me as being aggressive. Being at Milan he could very well be one for the future, but by no means the present. It could ruin his career.

This kid has no business against men, I just can't see it going well

At most I see it as a nice piece of publicity, a nice story that starts his career (hopefully he has a great one ahead due to the hype alone)

Chiellini, samuel, Bonucci etc etc would really not mix well with him in serie A.

Not to mention Mexes in training

Not going to happen , too much talk for nothing. It's probably made up anyway , Milan would be the first to protect the lad .

Again , there's no way it will be allowed , i am not even sure he's allowed in the primavera tbf , otherwise he would already be there by now.

lol Guys I was joking as my picture was included as satire due to how slight of a build Mastour really has.

I would in no way support this ludicrous idea in any form as it would only hinder his development. I would like him to move up to Primavera though.
