he made some good passes yes , but overall he had poor control and passing

yes its hindsight, but i would have played benzema and higuain. with benzema playing a little wide on the left

khedira was really missed.

essien too slow, i mean mourinho knows this, but then again who would he play in his place.

Chelsea lost 2-1 to Bayer Leverkusen (group stages) last year and won the CL.

The most important thing is qualifying for the knockout stages by then Marcelo should have fully recovered he was missed in the match. It was just too easy to get past Essien in the match, he was virtually non-existent, I hope this is the last time he plays at LB, the only good thing he did there was to send one good cross which Benzema couldn't reach, Marcelo's contribution to the attack was sorely missed on the night.

The rest of the defence had an off day bar Varane, whilst Pepe was still putting in great challenges, his delivery from the back was awful and was at fault for the first goal. Ramos addition to the attack was just as terrible. Even more worrying was the rate at which Alonso and Ozil lost possession in dangerous areas.

Casillas was having a great game till his poor clearance led to the winner for Dortmund. Di Maria's decision making is preventing him from being a world beater, he had a shocker today. Ronaldo was being double marked leaving a lot of space on the opposite wing for Di Maria but time and again he gave the ball away with some terrible passes and needless attempts at dribbling.

The least said about Real's two CF's the better. The only standout performers on the evening was Ronaldo, Varane and Modric.

Ronaldo stand-out performance ? Di Maria(2nd best from our team after Varane imo), Ozil and Ramos were better than him.

Ronaldo was at no point double marked, they had a defensive LW to be able to contain DiMaria, Ronaldo's wing was wide open that even Essien attacked sometimes, Ronaldo cannot function without Marcelo, while DiMaria does it without anyone

Maybe I watched a different match, but the Di Maria I saw against Dortmund was terrible, probably the worst player in white on the pitch. He had so much room to operate on the right, but he kept misplacing one pass after the other.

I thought Ronaldo was well marked but was Madrid's best performer in attack, besides scoring a sublime goal, he never stopped running and pressing and when the opportunity came he was always tried to play his teammates in. Ozil should made it 1-0 when Ronaldo sent a delightful cross from the left, but opted to shoot with his left foot instead of his right and missed a relatively simple tap-in.

Ronaldo appears to be the only inform attacker at the moment, the team would suffer dearly if he was to get a serious injury.

I was disappointed about Di marias efforts against Dortmund...CR7 was great giving the limited options he had going forward with the ball.

modric was losing the ball alot throughout the game, he made one good run in the box, passed it to di maria who did nothing with it.

casillas punched the ball so weakly, when he could have caught the ball or let varane deal with it. that was the second goal.

but everybody was poor really.

Mourinho needs to inject some new energy into the squad.

Start callejon in the next game or play morata or cheryshev. they have the quality to start at least after the performance of some of the teams' 'stars'

Modric did absolutely nothing, whatsoever, nothing.

only CR and varane were good, i also thought ramos was good. pepe was great in defence, but his passing was shockingly bad. alonso / khedira was bypassed like usual.

essian was beyond horrible, every freakin attack came from his side, a simple dribble or 1'2 pass by the attacker and he was screwed. he should never ever play as lb again.

di maria was the most wasteful player on the pitch.

Exactly, he was getting owned from left to right in the first 17 minutes.
Ultimately the tie favored Dortmund because of Pepes brainfart, shat pitch and ref.

are you kidding me? modric was not as good , just couldnt adapt to what he was supposed to do i.e. do khedira's job. incredible to see how underrated khedira is , we missed his authority in the middle of the pitch


@hala , ozil still gave a fantastic assist, it was not the best game he would ever have but was still better than di maria.

modric was not good, i have no bias. he wasnt good like some are suggesting here

he will be in with a few more games under his belt as he adapts to mourinho and the other players, but he still is under par at the moment

DiMaria was the only forward who attacked ffs, Ronaldo was nowhere to be seen apart from his goal and i don't know where the fck Benzema was, Ozil lost the ball like everytime he touched it and fell for like every contact, the sooner he realises the referees don't fall for that shite the better. wouldn't be surprised if Kaka started in place of Ozil which he deserves


There is a reason DiMaria does so good for Argentina like every game, because he plays with Missi and Higuain who are on the same wavelength as him as opposed to Ronaldo and Benzema who one plays like a forward and the other either like a DM or like a walking ghost

DiMaria(or it was Modric i think) could have had an assist like Ozil if Benz had a better first touch, DiMaria could have bagged himself about 3 assissts if Benzema was faster and didn't start running like 30 secs after the ball was passed

I dont know what game you saw but di maria was nowhere near the best player for us . countless misplaced passes, stupid row z material shooting , losing possession etc etc .

Usually i ignore anything said by halamadrid related to dimagia, same goes for crimson about higuain. Di magia was as usual a total headless chicken.

Not worried at all, we just need Ronaldo and Benz/Higgy to have their scoring boots on and we should be fine. Can't see them beating us at Bernabeu. Even a draw would be disappointing for us.

I just hope Higuain can finally find his form in europe. He just needs that one great performance and hopefully it will spur him on for greater things.....
That being said, its an important european clash so Mourinho will probably start with Benzema Upfront
