is it cause they won bundesliga? cause as i remember arsenal met dortmund in the group stages and won home and drew away

what you achieve domestically shouldnt exceed at whole europe

Dortmund is the best team in Germany. Even better than Bayern as they have shown in the past 2 years. I don't rate Chelsea as long as RDM is their manager. Arsenal have just lost two of their best players, this team isn't as good as last years IMO. Defensively they have improved but the lack of a goalscorer will hurt them (unless Giroud actually starts scoring). Dortmund is more complete as a team IMO. :coffee:

Just saw your rank Ninis....No wonder your questioning why I put Dortmund so high, you have Shakhtar, Ajax, Schalke, Zenit, Benfica all ranked higher than them Laughing

The lack of Dortmund in your rank is lolworthy, but hey everyone has a different view.

I really disgree with so many putting Barcelona and Real Madrid in tier one alone. I believe Madrid and Barcelona belong in tier one but three or four team make a good case to belong in that tier.

What exactly puts Barcelona and Madrid in a list above everyone else?

Because their dismal runs in the EL 2010/11 and CL in 2011/12 don't cause people to be overly optimistic about them, I guess.

Well Dortmund have disappointed for two years in a row in Europe be it EL or CL.Add to that ,they lost their best player of last season as well.

Their team is still very strong but Bayern atm with their ridiculous depth and the acquisition of Javi Martinez make them better than BVB at this point.Also they were extremely close to winning CL last year so that counts for something in my opinion.

So by this logic i have to place Barcelona in Tier 2 then ?

They reached the CL final last year,they were this close to winning it and CL perfomances are definitely much more significant than domestic league exploits while ranking teams in my opinion.Perfect platform to judge teams or European perfomances as a whole for that matter.
