Re: Israel to attack Iran?
United States...... says stop 20% enrichment and from now we will not add new sanctions....7 days later....adds 20 more companies to list of sanctions....
But i have to give credit to Obama and Kerry. standing up against all of them war monger conservatives in congress.

Re: Israel to attack Iran?
The reason is that the US doesn't want to allow the teeth of the sanctions to go away while this is in process... once all the requirements are met and a final deal is in place, then the US will start backing off. Not before though... no chance. As of right now, the US will carry on mostly as if nothing's changed. Understandably so...

Re: Israel to attack Iran?
It's not that. US's problem with Iran isn't just the nuclear program and that's the problem.
There will be no final deal if US doesn't reduce sanctions and continues to add new ones. They don't trust Iran but Iran doesn't trust them either.
Both sides have to back off in the same time. If it wasn't for the new president Iran wouldn't be willing to negotiate. and him and Zarif ( foreign minister ) are under a lot of pressure for accepting to shut down 20% enrichment and some other things.
1 more act against the deal from US and it is off.

Re: Israel to attack Iran?
that won't happen tbh. Iran has lied so many times in negotiations and to the UN that the US will never back off until Iran does it first... and i completely support that. Nothing about the Iranian regime is trustworthy.
In the end, Iran will have to anyhow because the Iranian economy is on the verge of collapse. The US has nothing to gain by taking the risk of trusting Iran.

Well, i disagree. completely. lol.
The nuclear problem could have been solved 10 years ago if US didn't break their promise. Khatami did everything they asked and at the end they didn't keep their word. because as i said their problem with Iran isn't the nuclear problem. it's beyond that.

Re: Israel to attack Iran?
It's far beyond that... you're right. Khatemi had no power. He said things and the Supreme Ruler would come out and say the exact opposite. That's why the US never followed through because there was no consensus among the ruling parts of Iran at that time. This time, you at least have the Supreme Leader and the President saying the same things (approximately lol). The Revolutionary Guard is still not in line, which is a concern... But at least it's just not the weakest party, the President, who is saying positive things.
There is no public preference in the US for the US being overly conciliatory towards Iran. Quite the opposite actually... most prefer the US to see what Iran actually does before taking any positive actions.
There is no quick solution here. In the end, it's up to Iran to prove to the world that it has changed and is evolving, not the other way around.
My sense is that the only reason Iran is even trying to become a better world citizen is that the sanctions are working... otherwise the government there would never open up. So that's the leverage the US has and it's not going to give up on its leverage easily at all.

Re: Israel to attack Iran?
I'm completely disagree that Iran is the one who breaks laws and is the bad guy. but hey lets agree to disagree.
What I'm saying is this, yes, leader always says US supports terrorists and Israel is evil and the other things. it will not change. but neither is what US says and does about Iran. for example Israel has killed 4 of most important Nuclear scientists in Iran and US always supports Israel. in 8 year war US supported Saddam to use Chemical weapons on Iranian people. you know how many died because of that? US blowed an airplane full of Iranian children and women. US is doing everything right now to create chaos in Iran.
But should that be a reason for Iran to not negotiate or break the agreement? no. it doesn't work like that. when you want to make a deal with your enemy, you don't want to make him your friend.
If Iran does what the agreement says, US should do it too. and Khatami did everything he promised and US didn't. that's the reality. you can't justify that with showing a speech of leader and say hey i know they did everything they agreed to but hey the leader said something bad about us lets break the deal.
Yes economy is in crisis but it has been like this for years. now it is worse than a few years back but hey Iranian people saw way way worse than this 30 years ago or in 8 year war.
Iran is negotiating because Rohani is different to Ahmadinejad. this is the only reason. If someone like Jalili won the elections you think he would come and negotiate? lol.

Re: Israel to attack Iran?
15 Democratic Senators are spearheading the effort to reject the deal, and thus take us into military action with Iran.
And many of them are very liberal members of congress as well as some who opposed the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It's tough to understand why they now want to push us into a war that no one wants.
