It's around £30m, which is about right imo.
And Modric won't really be competing with Alonso. Modric plays at CM, Alonso play as a DLP.

Think Modric is versatile enough to be accomodated around Alonso and shine.He was brilliant for spurs even when he was played at left wing by Rednapp.

I think they'll keep their 4-2-3-1 shape Alonso and Modric would be exposed defensively. Ozil will stay attacking midfielder. Cr7 Left winger. Right winger I think will stay di maria. The only possibility he fits in is move ozil to right wing and put modric as the attacking midfielder

Modric is versatile. He can play any position in a 4-2-3-1.
Against smaller teams it's possible for him to play alongside Alonso imo.
Sometimes Mourinho likes to play a 4-3-3 with Ozil at RW, so he can play as one of the CM's.
Alonso will need to be rested occasionally, which means Modric can play.
Also Alonso won't be around forever.

Will they both did pretty good with their previous team coentrao was good with benefica but not 30 million good more like 15-20 million. While Modric is 25 million. 30 million at most.

Modric is useless outwide, i'd do a song and dance if my club was facing a team with Modric and saw him outwide.
In fact when we played them Modric was once deployed on the wing and he was a ghost all game long.
It's like putting a poor mans Xavi on the wing and expecting results.

Exactly Modric can only play in the in centeral midfield or attacking midfield He sucks at wing.

He's not even that good as an attacking midfielder either...
He can play CM or deeper alongside Alonso, anywhere else really wouldn't be optimal for Modric, although he CAN play in any position in the midfield theoretically (and has).

seriously though, i'd honestly like to know what does modric provide that sahin couldn't, especially at three times the price
it's not like modric is a short term replacement, he's barely 27, that's like 20 in mourinho years
tottenham should sign parejo tbh, ideal replacement, finally spurs would have the spanish player they've always dreamed about

most likely we will see modric next to xabi in most la liga matches. in cl we will either see modric come off the bench when xabi--khedira is preferred OR modric will play in a 3 man midfield with xabi-khedira-luka

Well Modric will moste likely be deployed as a deep lying playmaker i dont think age factors much in that position.
They'll get Moutinho AVB wants him.

30 million for a vastly overrated player, not worth a penny more than 20. Will probably be hailed as the best midfielder in the world in Meh Liga though.

He played as the most furthest CM, hardly AM, that's like saying Xavi played AM for Spain as that was Modric's role.
He can do that, but AM as in Ozil's role he can't well he can but not anywhere near his top level.
He has played AM for Spurs and he looks lost in the final third wondering what to do, definitely best as a CM.
Be that Deep CM or the most advanced CM in the a 4-3-3.

funny, i seem to remember silva and mata being called world class after moving to england, alonso and arteta weren't too shabby, and i'm giving it two months before everyone starts spanking the monkey over cazorla and michu
