Mods why did you take of the Rep system ?

Has people actually watched Modric play in LW for spurs.Anyone saying Modric is only good in CM hasnt watch Spurs much imo.

He was good there when he first joined Spurs as he was AM, but in the last few years the more he's played as a CM the more lost he looks when he plays in other positions.

In last 2 seasons if Modric played wide or AM he wouldn't be anywhere near as effective as he would be as a CM.

Since the arrival of VDV two seasons ago Arry always preffered to play VDV in AM or play with 2 strikers. So Modric havent played much as a AM for spurs in the last two seasons for us to make a conclusion on that imo.

And i think it was in 2009-10 season i think he played left wing against us and just ripped us apart.That was a Goat performance seriously.


This could be a very compact midfield and would work very well in CL games imo.Particularly away from home

He's a great AM stop talking rubbish Mole. Had an impressive Euro 2008 playing there. Was outstanding at LW when 'Arry first arrived at Spuds.

He's played Modric wide a lot due to constant injuries to Lennon so i can make a conclusion on that.

on AM maybe not but he did play there a handful of times last season and wasn't anywhere near as effective as he was as a CM.

He's a different player now, sure he was very good in those roles a few years ago but in the last 2 years he has struggled there.

I doubt Mourinho will play him out wide anyway.

Gil i'm not talking rubbish your all living in the past he was good in those roles a few years ago, but in last 2 years he's struggled to perform anywhere near his best level in those roles.

Exactly Mouirinho wont play him out wide but if he does you guys are saying modric to left wing Ronaldo to right wing.

I am wondering if we will see a 32 million pound osticization? We will see but playing barca I don't see him being a difference maker. The la liga scrub well he should be fine. Later stages of the cl depends who Madrid play so I am wondering if this is a good signing?

Coincidentally, back in 2008 when Barcelona were first rumored to be interested in Modric, Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo presented him with a personalized Barca shirt presumably to try and grease the transfer wheels.

£30m is what BBC is reporting.

Spurs paid £16m for him and his previous club gets 10% so that's another £3m, so all in all Spurs made £11m or so from him leaving, not too bad.

Still do not know what he will do in Madrid though. Guess I'll wait and see.

About Coentrao though people forget while Coentrao cost us €30m, we sent them Garay for €5.5m and retain 50% of any future fee if Garay is sold in the future. So realistically Coentrao was only €24.5m, possibly less.

Modric trained with the first team at full pace. He might feature in Supercopa clasico

for me he worths that kind of money relatevly arround 20m

I think BBC said it was in the region of 30m. I think the accurate fee was 33m, 27m with 6m addons.
