I'm with you flameas. MDS form has dropped significantly this year but at the same time out defensive unit as whole has gone down a few notches. I say let MDS finish out the year and then sign cech in the summer. And for gods sake Glenn Johnson is crap and I would seriously begin to question rudi and Walt's transfer strategy if we are willing to pay his outrageous wage demands

This winter should look like this : starting LB, capable/promising CB, and a RB. Mapou has been decent when called upon but he's not a permanent buy imo. We should be going after Nastasic, Darmian, De Sciglio all promising and capable of starting. Also, we must keep Ljajic he's quality and has been really good these last few games

I highly doubt we get De Sciglio. That kid is Milan through and through.

Agreed on Mbiwa. Doesn't have the tactical ability to help this squad to silverware, but I still like him nonetheless. He's good on the ball and has a lot of confidence coming out of the back. I just wish he had a better head for the defensive game though. With better anticipation, he'd be so much better than he is now.

Still not in favor of selling De Sanctis outright. One bad game doesn't mean we sell players who helped us get to where we are. We shouldn't be so fickle. However, I do think this summer is right time to get our permanent keeper though. Cech will no doubt be at the top of that list, but he will be for other clubs too though. Bringing him in this winter might be best move we can make, but I don't think it'll happen.

Agree completely on Johnson. He will not help this squad and paying him more than our best players would be sheer lunacy. His best days are well and truly behind him.

De Sanctis should have a Lobont role next season and split time with Skorupski in Coppa matches. Next year will be a defining year for Skorupski IMO. He either has it or not and the likes of Cech, De Sanctis and Lobont along with the coaching staff will know whether or not he's got the ability to be a no1.

sabatini would probably go for his love child Santon, I think he was injured though and haven't played for Newcastle this season. Darmian is another option but given to his role at Torino, i dont think we can afford him. there are contradicting rumors around cech one says we are close another we are no longer perusing him.

Is jojo really available now with man city taking bony?, destro situation is not clear and I do not see anyway he can get into the team replacing Totti.In case JOJO available its clear what saba should do to me as we need a player to orchestrate attacks.

I rather have Adriano from Shaktar than Jovetic. Or since we are not playing with a regular striker then could buy a AMF instead.

The most important thing is not to end up with some SErie A leftover junk - Pazzini, Quaqlierra, Giovinvo - useles medicore players.

didn't have a chance to watch any game from luiz adriano, i know about the impressive record but that's about it. Jojo is an AM/f but I realize his transfer isn't that likely to happen specially with all the rumors about FFP and loss or money, the same damn books.

We don't. I think we're good in the areas he plays in.

Unless he's a good full-back, we shouldn't be doing this level of business with anyone this late in the transfer window.

If he can decide games by himself then yes.

I think this is the time for our management to make a decision - to buy somebody with quality and challenge for scudetto or try to stay in second place with this squad.

That's the thing though....Salah isn't really a game-changer. He was really good at Basel before coming to Chelsea, but certainly not a game-changer for them like Shaqiri was a season or 2 before him.

I just think this is too much money for a player that neither side can guarantee will come into the squad and make them better than they already are.

I recall an Arsenal fan telling me Gervinho's bad performances came after he participated in Afcon, as he lost his place in the team and could never gain that or recover his confidence, that's the only logic i think might be behind this

He was actually a sub, a lot, for Basel.

He is all dribble and pace, no end product, passing ability or physicality. He is also purely a LW/RW so you'd be crazy to use him as a wingback.

Same was said about Florenzi in some circles and now he's our emergency RB when Toro and Maicon are out

Maicon needs to leave.. hes defending is just awful. Shots go to the sky also..

We still play better when Maicon plays honestly. I value his crossing and defending much more than his shooting. Head and shoulders the best RB we've had since Panucci.

yes maicon is still class, he is not a 90min player anymore. His performance drops by 60min into the game

Atleast he is cheap. Though still no fullbacks were signed.. hopefully that means we will spend a little bit in that department during the summer. Same goes with GK.

Doumbia and Ibarbo will suit our style more than Destro. Though currently our style is sucking a-s-s

I think we'll certainly get a new keeper in the summer.

Doumbia has an excellent scoring record, but Ibarbo doesn't and is also injured as well. We typically don't have too much luck with players who start their Roma careers injured so that's worrying.
