Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours pt. II
Roma-Destro deal in trouble?
By Football Italia staff
Roma’s swoop for Mattia Destro is not complete yet and reports of problems in negotiations have alerted both Milan and Juventus.
The striker is now fully owned by Genoa after they resolved the co-ownership deal with Siena for €7m, leading Rossoblu President Enrico Preziosi to suggest Destro would sign for Roma “within 24 hours.”
However, reports this evening claim problems have emerged in the discussions over personal terms with a difference of €300,000 between wage demand and offer.
It is therefore rumoured that the impasse could allow Juventus and Milan to push their way back into the race for Destro.
There are even reports that if Destro does not agree personal terms with Roma, then Genoa and Siena will not sign the contracts either, so the striker will still be co-owned by those two clubs.
------------------------
That's a pretty specific sum to be holding out for. Especially when he'll get it and much more in the coming seasons with us since his salary will rise basically every year.

I hope we bail on Destro. Id rather have Gabbiadini. He would cost less and is better then Destro but just hasn't got the time because Denis was a beast last year.

Sao Paulo right-back Ivan Piris had Roma medical today. Will join imminently on year-long loan for €1m fee with a €4m right to buy option.

I will admit, I haven't been at all impressed with Jose Angel. Defended him last season, but LE's departure has sucked all the enthusiasm from him. I can see him leaving honestly, but that depends on Dodo's fitness.

good news.
“The goal is to acquire the most talented players you can,” Pannes said. “We hear often from the fan base, when will AS Roma sign big players? We say ‘We are, they’re just younger.’
That's what our CEO said about our transfer strategy. Makes a whole lot of sense to me.

Considering how bad Rosi was today against Liverpool that is very welcome news.

Sure is all we need now is another CB,I personally hope we break the bank and go for Ogbonna he'd be perfect for us.He can also play as a LB.

Milan offered only 6,5 mil for Yanga-Mbiwa. We could try to hijack that deal

Roma want Balzaretti, say Palermo
By Football Italia staff
Palermo have confirmed that Roma have joined Napoli in the chase to sign Italian left-back Federico Balzaretti.
The player’s future is unclear given that he has less than a year left on his contract, while attempts to extend his deal have so far stalled.
“As well as Napoli, there is also interest from Roma,” President Maurizio Zamparini told Radio Radio. “Lazio? Nobody has called from there.
“Palermo will certainly not give the player away and we have no need to sell him, but we’ll let him go if he asks us for a move.
“We’ll continue to negotiate, but if Balzaretti is back with us on July 31 then he won’t be going anywhere else.”
Palermo had previously insisted that the player would stay or only accept Paris Saint-Germain as a destination as his wife works in the French capital
Would be a great signing.

Ogbonna Would be a great signing considering he can fill tht LB role also a you mentioned. I'm not sure we will break that bank but we can hope...Balza would be a wonderful player to have in our XI! Make it happen Roma!
On a side not I thought castan showed great potential and feel he will have a great season with us. He seems pretty speedy for a CB as well which is nice.

He's only 30,we could easily get 3 good seasons out of him.4-5 million is a steal for a player of his quality.

Balzaretti 'has chosen Roma'
By Football Italia staff
Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini warns “Roma have to improve their offer” for Federico Balzaretti to €5m after the left-back chose them ahead of Napoli and Milan.
This week the Sicilians had confirmed Napoli provided the highest bid for 31-year-old Balzaretti, but it is now reported the player would prefer an Olimpico switch instead.
“The interest from Roma is the most intense,” President Zamparini told Radio Radio.
“Recently Juventus also stepped forward, but we’ll see what happens. Federico told me if he had to choose a city to live in, then Rome would be fantastic.
“However, Roma have to improve their offer and at least match that of Napoli. That means reaching €5m cash with no player exchanges involved.
“We can take several options into consideration, such as a paid loan or a permanent transfer with payments spread out.”
Zamparini also confirmed that Milan have stepped forward, hoping for a cheap swoop like the one that brought Antonio Nocerino to San Siro last summer for €500,000.
“Milan have come forward and want a Nocerino-style deal, but there’s no chance. Balzaretti is not Nocerino.”

Same. An upgrade to LB that we've needed for quite some time. His age matters very little. It's a number and nothing more. He's still a quality player and is exactly what's needed at the back. We must beat Napoli to his signature.

Rosi looks set to join Parma on loan, They will be signing Okaka outright. That free's up a spot for Piris to prove his worth with Taddei possibly as his backup.
