Re: #19 - Mario Götze
I'd say it's common considering these guys have to drown a lot of fluids and are in constant movement. Plus, a lot of these games are in what I would consider cold weather.

I'm really, really, really disappointed by this.
Moreover, the timing of the announcement is so idiotic, I can't really put it in words.

Re: #19 - Mario Götze
I'm so disappointed myself in this. He is one of my favorite players right now, but by joining a title rival of the team that MADE YOU into what you are, sorry, Mario, you have no character whatsoever. Of course, I might be subjective on this, since one of my secret desires is to see Gotze reuniting with Kagawa, but I think anyone could agree on the first point. (well, maybe except, Owen, Adebayor, Nasri and other players which I would not elaborate on anymore)
I would hate for Dortmund's squad to be weakened right now. Gotze leaving and Lewandowski not signing a new deal, what will this mean for BvB? I absolutely fell in love with this team, this is horrible timing and I would hate the philosophy of the team to change. Well, to be fair, you've risen up from incomparably worse places and Klopp is a wonderful manager. Stay awesome!

So how does Gotze fit in Bayern?
There are so many options. Ive heard a lot that he will be used as a false 9, but I wouldn't understand completely altering a formation and system that has worked so brilliantly this season. So now there's Kroos, Muller, Ribery, Robben, Shaqiri, and Gotze for 3 positions as Mandzukic, Gomez, and possibly Gotze or Muller for 1. How would you like to see Bayern line up and how do you think they will?

Again, if they're set for Lewandowski than that could at least rule out the false 9 role for Goetze.

Re: #19 - Mario Götze
Okay, so how do they both fit in then? What happens to Kroos, Robben, and/or Muller then? Mandzukic and Gomez? I highly doubt all those guys are gonna be okay with a bench role, but they're all too good to bench.

Re: #19 - Mario Götze
Robben will probably leave, so will Gomez. Mandzukic could rotate with Lewandowski.
However I think both signings are unnecessary. Bayern already have a good midfield and attack that's working successfully.
Kroos and Gotze both play the same position.
Here's a few formations:
------------Martinez---Schweinsteiger
---Gotze-------------Kroos--------------Ribery
----------------Lewandowski/Mandzukic
------------Martinez---Schweinsteiger
---Muller-------------Kroos--------------Ribery
---------------------Gotze

Re: #19 - Mario Götze
That Lewandowski rumor is getting on my nerves.
There's no way Dortmund are letting him go after losing Götze (who was only let go due to Bayern meeting his exit clause).
Probably a false 9 as people are saying... Or maybe a long term Ribéry replacement.
I would definitely not bench Mandzukic. Gómez might go... but I don't want him to leave, either. Pizarro was only signed for a year and we'd be left with no rotation option.

lol Guardiola just buys players for the sake of it. Bayern will owe millions in debts by the time Guardiola is through with them.

Lewa destroys Gomez in link up, work rate, passing, technique etc etc you name it.
I actually find him to be a lot like Kluivert and didn't Pep say once that is his ideal striker?

Although I do understand the worry once Gómez has to play under Guardiola .
But if Götze's going to play as a false 9, he's not really needed.

Re: #19 - Mario Götze
Pep Guardiola won't change the whole system. People are being silly when they say things like that and Bayern supposedly playing tiki taka. I'm sure they talked about that with him before hiring since the existing system already works so well. He's just going to tweak it some more. They're going to stick to the 4-2-3-1. Whether Gotze becomes Pep's 10 or a "false 9" in that system is another matter. Don't know what this means for Kroos though. I don't like him as 10. He's more of a central midfieler. He won't get past Martinez-Schweini world class double pivot which Bayern intends to keep. Martinez won't be moved into central defense. Would be a waste especially since Boateng is better than him as a CB.

Re: #19 - Mario Götze
Bayern made a big mistake for not convincing Jupp Heynkes to extend his contract, the man is a great coach. However I don't see Pep changing the current Bayern system drammatically, like someone suggested he will make a little bit of changes though.
I think they will still line-up like they do, Gotze signing is nothing but a future signing, Ribery is getting old so also is Robben and Bayern needed to act quickly. I don't see them selling either Robben or Ribery, they will still stay in the Club for the next 2 seasons to mentor Shaqiri and Gotze.
I am predicting that Bayern future goal is to build a dominant team for the future ( with Many German stars), this is the reason why they signed Jan Kirchhoff and I am telling you now that he his an amazing talent. Bayern always sign reasonably regardless of price or not, they payed 37m and 40m for Gotze and Martinez because they were needed, however they also paid 4million for Dante, 500k for Wieser and Pizarro and Jann free, if they also feel they can improve the team. Point being that, for Bayern it's not about the money, it's about who they need/want.
Jupp Heynkes deserves a lot of credit, however people should not also forget the presence of Sammer, he has been inspirational for Bayern and 100 time better than the former sporting director (Christian Nerlinger), he brings out the %110 percent from the players. Him and Jupp Heynckes plays the good cop and the bad cop role very well, he his always criticising and Jupp praises most of the time.
I think with Sammer around, Bayern can easily transit from Jupps Era to Pep era without too much stress, I don't think Pep will change the formation/system too much, he might probably release one or two players, however they won't be important players, it's between players like Contento, Rafinha, Van Buyten and Tymo, the most high profile player he might release this season will be Pizarro and DVB. However with the way Pizarro has been playing, especially as an Attacking Midfielder I am pretty sure they might extend his contract for another year because he has proven he can be versatile, and Bayern happens to be freaks for versatile players, because versatile players is part of their games, it allows their players drift position easily and as you would notice against Barca, Dante was playing CB-RB-DM role, Boateng was playing CB-LB Role, Martinez DM-CB, Lahm RB-RM, Alaba LB-LW, Schweini CM-DM-AM-LM-WRM(engine) Robben LW-LWB role, Ribery RW-RWB role and it goes like this on and on. Most players in Bayern can play more than 2 position, probably Gomez is the only player who can only play one position, even DVB can play as a striker. So any player that stays or come in must be able to do this
To simplify everything, Bayern won't sell high profile players this season, not even Gomez will go. Also they will also keep Rafinha and Contento until better options arrive(like they always do, waiting for better options). Tymo is the most likely player to go because of the emergance of Emre Can.
Sammer will give Pep the perfect anaysis of the current team and the system, he will advise him not to make too many drastic changes, Pep will obviously take Sammer anaysis seriously and Make few changes, I am expecting to see Bayern line up like this next season.

What's wrong with Mario Gotze?
Wasn't too long ago he was branded the "Talent of the century" by Bayern and was being labelled Germany's answer to Messi. He's not even better than De Bruyne right now.

-10 millions a year at 22
-He's not the main player of his team ( or one of them ) as he was at Dortmund.
That being said, he's still great for a 22 y old. Just seems like he's not hungry enough.
