I hate comparing really established players to newcomers, you always tend to overrate the newcomer in such comparisons...

Obviously Goetze has had a far better and productive club season than Cassano but Cassano has made a greater impact for the national team..It would be useless to compare them with stats cuz Goetze will win it quite convincingly..
I mean he is the focal point of Italy's attack and delivered impressive perfomances in friendlies against top teams like Spain and also in the European qualifiers as well..
And also probably he'll get a better run in with Milan this season so this might be his last chance saloon to make it in a big club and have a productive and a noteworthy club season..

Well, Götze is just at the beginning with the German NT. Heck, the boy just turned 19 and already did a fantastic job as starter in the Brazil friendly, and he looked pretty good whenever he was subbed in, too.

he hasnt been playing like crap is just that he is a 19 year old kid, who is being put into the centre of a team that is badly struggling to find form, and everyone expects him to be a savior or something, he is 19. sahin is gone now, lets see if goetze can save dortmand, they havent started too well so far.

If i had to pass the ball to one of them in injury time of the CL final, It would be Casanno- regardless of his form. GOetze will be the better player out of the 2 in the longer run.

Id say right now theyre about even in pretty much everything, but Cassano is better at finishing and Gotze is better at creating, and maybe a slight edge in dribbling. Gotze very shortly though is gonna surpass him and become one of the best players in the world if he keeps this up.
But people are forgetting just how good Cassano really is. Remember that along with Pazzini, he carried Sampdoria, usually around a 10th place team, to a 4th place finish just a few years back. Hes really an incredible player, definitely world class in my opinion when hes on his game. But by the way, i dont know if Cassano is first choice for the second striker/trequartista position for Italy or not, but he shouldnt be. Rossi should be.

Goetze reminds me so much of Cassano when he was younger, in terms of playing style at least, it is really incredible
