Mario Götze aka Judas (Former Borussia Dortmund #10)
Mario Götze obviously does want to stay in Dortmund until further notice. He just extended his contract until 2016. Tough luck for other clubs who want to pry him away from the black-yellows.

Re: Mario Götze aka Judas (Former Borussia Dortmund #10)
Good for him and Dortmund, but signing an extension doesn't mean he will see out that extension. The expectation always was that he'd stay another year there regardless, something I've been telling my fellow Gunners numerous time recently.

Very good move for him, but just like Jay said extending the contract dont mean anything. I think in 2 years he would be sold to a bigger team if he continues the way he plays.

Re: Mario Götze aka Judas (Former Borussia Dortmund #10)
It at least means he'll get a higher salary if he leaves, and he will be massively expensive, transfer-wise, so everybody wins.
And I really think after seeing what happened to Sahin, Dortmunds most valuable player in a team including Götze and Kagawa as well as Bender, will make players like Götze or Kagawa think extra hard whether they really want to leave, especially considering Dortmund is like 99,5% likely to play in the UCL again next season.
Edit: I half-agree with you guys, though. If Dortmund keep flunking out of the UCL and don't at least make the semis once in the next two years (unless they go out against Real/Barca/Bayern/Milan), Kagawa and Götze will probably be gone.

Well, on the other hand, German players rarely leave early on their contracts. Most were sold in the last year of it (see Özil, Khedira, Neuer etc).

All this means is he isnt going anywhere for cheap because of a lack of years on his contract. Like Ozil did.

Not much has changed in that regard, then.
In any case I think it's good for the player to stay at Dortmund for a little while longer because he is still young and Dortmund is a great place to be currently.

True, it's very risky to move abroad as a youngster IMHO, just because Özil and Khedira did it, that doesn't mean everyone else will be just as lucky.

I love this combination. Beckenbauer called it the best duo in football (explaining he saw the Barca players as a trio instead) and hard to argue, their understanding is telepathic and their style is gorgeous.
Can't wait to watch them in the UCL R of 16.

Very poor decision to let the deal be public before the end of the season. He may be booed at their home games now.

Apparently his brother is getting bullied out of school and Dortmund ultras have vandalized Marios house.
pretty harsh treatment but how can you not expect some sort of backlash when you sell your clubs brightest young talent to your direct league rivals.

They should be tearing down the houses of their club's board members as well.Albiceleste wrote:Apparently his brother is getting bullied out of school and Dortmund ultras have vandalized Marios house.

If Munich activated his release clause, then it was solely down to Gotze and Dortmund had little say in itBlue Barrett wrote:They should be tearing down the houses of their club's board members as well.Albiceleste wrote:Apparently his brother is getting bullied out of school and Dortmund ultras have vandalized Marios house.

Re: Mario Götze aka Judas (Former Borussia Dortmund #10)
Oh was that it? A release clause? Didn't know the details of the transfer. I'd make the same decision if I were him tbh but he has to deal with whatever comes with it.Lex wrote:If Munich activated his release clause, then it was solely down to Gotze and Dortmund had little say in itBlue Barrett wrote:They should be tearing down the houses of their club's board members as well.Albiceleste wrote:Apparently his brother is getting bullied out of school and Dortmund ultras have vandalized Marios house.
