Mario Gotze
I don't know if this is true or not but on wikipidia it says Mario Gotze is a Manchester united player. Anybody hear anything about this being official? Sorry I don't have links I'm on my phone.

Dortmund aren't selling, he signed a contract extension last season... not happening, sadly.

Ya I would like him to stay at Dortmund I like them mostly because of the polish players, but they can play some good football!

Re: Mario Gotze
Then show me a bad game of him - show me a bad game of a (just turned) 19 old in his second pro-season. Usually shouldn't be much of a task but for Goetze it simply is. For Kroos, Ganso etc. you could find a whole collection.
The kid is special, a person watchin football for the first time would notice that. When he was destroying on a weekly basis and leading a team to the championship, the guy in your sig was enjoying the view from the bench in the beautiful city of gelsenkirchen .

Re: Mario Gotze
Don't get me wrong. In the begining, the praise was justified but now he is being overrated/overhyped It doesn't mean he isn't good, it means he gets more accredition than he deserves at the moment Wait for CL, then you can praise him more with reasonToffer Harley wrote:Then show me a bad game of him - show me a bad game of a (just turned) 19 old in his second pro-season. Re: Mario Gotze
nahnah i'm a oezil fanboy myself, but enough people said his hype wasn't justified either. i just wanted to use that comparison to illustrate that goetze's development was even more special than oezil's so this could really be the beginning of something huge. can't wait for them playin in the national team together - mariut goezil .
other than that, it's not cool to overhype youngsters too much as it can have a negative effect on them (e.g. kroos, "germany's football messiah" since he was 16 years old), but with goetze i can't help it - he's the shit.

Re: Mario Gotze
Brilliance at an early age doesn't mean that he'll be better than certain players older than him. For example, Ozil is bigger and a lot faster= more room for improvement than Götze If he is to surpass Ozil, he has to become a profilic goal scorer and very strong physically.Toffer Harley wrote:nahnah i'm a oezil fanboy myself, but enough people said his hype wasn't justified either. i just wanted to use that comparison to illustrate that goetze's development was even more special than oezil's so this could really be the beginning of something huge. can't wait for them playin in the national team together - mariut goezil .

In essense, you can't improve on something that's not there from the start

Re: Mario Gotze
however, physical attributes haven't hindered certain people like a midget from argentina to become the best. and i wouldn't say he's a lot faster. they both look relatively slow when dribbling around etc. but when they have to, they can go off like a rocket. i'd really like to know how you got that assumption.
and concerning the strength well, i think everbody has seen how goetze has gotten bigger since last season. leitner has mentioned it too in an interview on spox.com that he has become quite a beast by puttin in the work in the gym. and goetze himself said that one of the main areas he tries to improve is his finishing, and by lookin back at the last few games it seems to be just fine. oezil has gotten bigger too, but when he came to madrid he looked like some stoner student .
of course, it will take time and he has many more experiences to make. but nobody in the world is better on his position and his age - hands down. he's got everything it takes to become a legend.

Re: Mario Gotze
Götze is really really fast and not slower than Özil
He just runs less and uses his strength more economically.
Many people say that Özil's weakness is that he runs too much and doesn't
move that well without the ball and tires a lot more because of it.
That's certainly not true for Götze.
I agree though that saying player A was better than player B at age 18 doesn't mean much. Every player develops at a different pace.
Just look at Kruska. Playing for Dortmund at 18, now a nobody.
I adore Götze but this insane hype ("The German Messi") is only harmful, nothing good can come from it.

but honestly, when was there a 18/19 year old shaking up bundesliga like this. the maturity of his game is what sets him apart from all the other talents. his decision-making is outstanding and he's pretty much equally good with both feet. that gives him the luxury of focussing on his rather weaker abilities, like his finishing.
he seems to be a fast learner and the hype doesn't seem to bother him much (so far). so i'm confident he'll put in some good showing in CL as well.

Re: Mario Gotze
His main strength is moving into free space The only problem with Ozil is that he acts more as an attacker than ACM. He plays very advanced. Also, whoever said Goetze is as fast as Ozil or like Messi doesn't have a clue. Messi has got crazy acceleration to his top speed. Ozil is very fast in his top speed, Götze cannot compare to him Also, Messi is very physicalSerge Gnabry wrote:Götze is really really fast and not slower than Özil

Götze needs to develop his game more around positioning, physicality and shooting

We'll see I guess but I'm hopeful.
I also think that Kroos will be a dominant player in 4 years.

Re: Mario Gotze
Gotze is a midget though, at least Oezil is 180 cm. He's only 18 though, let's wait for a growth spurt
Or, he could train up strength as Messi has done... but that's in the future.

Re: Mario Gotze
i didn't talk about messi's speed and honestly, a 15 year old could become as strong as him, what are you talkin about. throw in some practice in the gym and you're there within a few months. the guy had to down pills, to even grow - physically he's nothing special. but well i don't have a clue anyway .
i start to think you haven't watched too much of goetze, but we can get back on this topic in a few years time, when he's "officially" up there with the others.

Re: Mario Gotze
height really is a great measurement of capability:
goetze 1,76m
oezil 1,80m (indeed, those 4 cm give him a huge advantage. must be embarassing to even stand next to such a giant)
...
someone called aguero 1,73m (geez, he must be bad)
david silva 1,70m
robinho 1,70m
another dude, Andrés Iniesta or something 1,70m (lol, noob)
