Napoli set €70m Cavani price-tag

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has opened the door to Juventus for Edinson Cavani, but only “if they bring me €70m in cash.”

The Bianconeri have long been linked with the Uruguayan international as the ‘top player’ they need in attack for next season.

Tuttosport continue to maintain the deal can be done for €40m, but De Laurentiis warned that’s not going to happen.

“People say I intend to sell Cavani. Of course, if they bring me at least €70m in cash,” smiled the Hollywood mogul.

Napoli are in negotiations to extend Cavani’s contract until 2016 with wages worth over €4m per season plus performance-related bonuses.

Although Ezequiel Lavezzi has not yet been sold to PSG, a €27m transfer is expected to go through next week.

let napoli sell lavezzi and keep cavani... w/o lavezzi, cavani won't have nearly as good of a season. w/ the lack of success, cavani (and hamsik) will want to leave, which would also affect their performance. in the end napoli won't be able to get as much for their sales as they would this year.

I agree with you we should give them around 30 million + matri+melo and hopefully they accept, but if cavani doesnt join who do you guys think will end up coming?

Then Pepe is worth 50m € according to me.. If you say Cavani is that much worth I would say we value every single player we have +30 million € coz that's what he does

I don't know if De Laurentiis actually believes he is worth 70 million, but I think he is trying to show just how important Cavani is to the club and that he is unwillingly to sell him unless it's for a huge profit. De Laurentiis has taken this team from the the very bottom of Italy to where they are now. He's not going to change the squad he built because they missed out on UCL.
