Facing only 91 shots on target over the season, Valdes saved just 60 (66%) ranking him bottom of La Liga's keepers to appear in at least half of the league matches,

I hope it is not trying to imply what i think it is trying to imply. If it is, then it is the stupidest thing i have read in a while.

If it's implying that Valdes is overrated then it is 100% correct.

Re: Victor Valdés makes spanish history.
It's a stat, an inanimate piece of data plucked from thousands of it's kind.I don't think it knows how to go about the process of implying.
Valdes made two types of history though, first keeper to win the Zamora while having the lowest save percentage in the league.

Here's the article where it talks about Valdes' low save percentage:
http://www.whoscored.com/Blog/assbsgyoxkq9l1psq1imzg/Show/Player-Focus-Save-Success-Rate
Btw, Buffon has the highest save percentage in Europe, Stekelenburg has the lowest in Italy.

That source isn't up to date at all.
Look at the number of games played. Each GK has a maximum of 17, 18 or 19 games. These stats were taken halfway through the season.
You want the full-season statistics for Valdes, look at this. (He has the lowest save percentage in league games in La Liga)

Sooo....
He can go from best to worst and still win the Zamora?
Clearly a difference maker
