Tim Wiese vs Víctor Valdès?

Wiese is one of the best keepers I've ever seen in terms of reflexes, especially at saving penalties.

He is kind of a dumb c*ck though, and Iker is vastly superior in any other aspect, like command of the box, rushing off the line etc. - well not vastly superior, Wiese could still walk into any team's goal and they wouldn't suffer.

I personally don't like him, but he certainly is good enough for any club. Certainly tons better than Valdes :vagi:

It is incredible how a goalkeeper who is part of a team that has been winning consistently for 3-4 years gets hardly any respect at all.

Ask Barca fans about the number of times Valdes has saved our ass.

2 seasons ago I said Valdes was having a better season than Casillas, and he was.

My point wasn't Valdes being shit, my point was Wiese being excellent.
I don't want to sound too cocky, but Germans have higher standards for GK's, only the Italians keep up with us in that regard.

And even Germans consider Wiese very good, not one of the best, but very good. Better than Valdes isn't insulting Valdes, it's just... Telling people Wiese is really good.

He's still an asshole, though, so that's a problem.

Well, Wiese is Germany's Nr.2 at the moment for a reason. Although I still think he's a bad luck charm, never achieving a win with the German NT during his 6 caps.

Still dont think he will be a better GK than Valdes at Barca.

He has saved Bremens ass countless times, though, and their defence was shitty in a way that was almost magnificent to behold.

And they played an incredibly high line as well, so their bad defence looked even worse because of tactics. If you want a keeper that has been shot at like 894234092899023 times a match for a good number of years, you want Wiese. I can't think of a great keeper with a shittier defence in front of him TBH.

Well, if he'd be better at Barca is a completely different question, especially since Barca is a very homogenous group and Wiese is a selfish prick, so he's probably more likely to be pre-Mou Real Madrid material. :X

I have seen Wiese plenty of times with Bremen in the past. I know he is very good. His style does not suit Barcelona's. That is the reason why i said he wont be better than Valdes at Barcelona.

If we were talking about pre-Guardiola Valdes, then that is a completely different story.

I totally agree that his style doesn't suit Barca, and Barca shouldn'T sign a player with his kind of ego. I just thought that Wiese would probably walk into more teams than Valdes would. Nothing more, nothing less.

Apparently Wiese is linked to Real Madrid.

Wiese came out and said his agent is negotiating with Real Madrid, I found that interesting

EC reported that he and his agent actually contacted us to offer his services, but we said no. we are looking at the Spanish market, let's see how it turns out.

I just read that Tim Wiese signed up with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim until 2016. Sorry, Real, Wiese prefers to stay in Germany after all

an excellent keeper nontheless, but he also showboats A LOT. tries to make all the saves look as spectacular as possible.

Still, I'd take valdes over him - the difference is not too big tho.
