Great defense built on solid possession but hyping up VV is laughable.

Nobody hypes up Valdes, but he should get the credit he deservedly earns. He deserves more than what he gets on here, and what he gets is constant criticism as if he's dirt.

I don't think that,in the whole wide world,there's a keeper that I care less about than Valdes.I don't think anyone ever mentions him except Barca fans implying he's better than Casillas.Which kind of has a counter effect...

Valdes is a good keeper, last season he genuinely saved Barca's ass quite a few times. Some people say he's better than Casillas, personally I won't take those statements into consideration.

He's improved considerably.

However, he's made a couple prominent errors this season which have somewhat cost them.

Either way it's a statistical award, I've never really respected those, but at the end of the day he's a good keeper.

madrid fans were wanking over ronaldive's useless record pichichi last year, i don't see why barcelona fans shouldn't appreciate valdes for tying the zamora record...

also i was under the impression that marcelo is the best lb in the world and ramos best cb in the league, how come people are saying barcelona's defence is better hmm

right, so when you put together alves who is terrible at defending, busquets who is shit, pique who is awful this season, puyol who's slow, and adriano who's average you get a better outcome than the greatest lb ever marcelo, greatest cb in spain ramos, defensively fantastic arbeloa, borderline world class pepe and tactically amazing khedira

Puyol has always been world class.

And we all know Marcelo is rated for going forward.

So don't try and make it sound like everyone has said Madrid defenders crap over Barca defenders one for one.

Oh and as of now Madrid have conceded only two more goals than Barca......so yeh.

All people know when we say Marcelo is the best LB we mean his attacking abilities. mostly.

and yeah Ramos was one of the best CB's in the league this season. but you defend with 11 players not 1 or 2.

we are talking about 70% possession here. when you have 70% possession of the ball opponent can't come close to your goal often. and for the record in some games its 75 and 80 not 70.

Valdes is a good keeper. but comparing him to Casillas is like ( sorry Madrid fans ) comparing Ronaldo to Messi. Messi is clearly better than Ronaldo and some good records from Ronaldo will not change that. Valdes wins Zamora but Casillas wins the best GK in the world award. Ronaldo wins Pichichi but Messi wins the best in the world award.

You judge players based on performance specially in important moments not on records or stats.

Valdes deserves credit for this, however there are better goalkeepers than him.

Imo teams don't really create many chances vs Barca because they press and keep possession well.

Hopefully we press and keep possession better next season, however I'm not sure that'll happen under Mourinho with the counter-attacking approach.
